Need help Customizing my head lights.

  1. Hey I need some help if anyone out there can give me advice I would much appreciate it. I wanna take the lens off of my headlight so I can paint it. But my problem is I dont know how really. I cant bake it because I have a gas oven and heard that was bad and dangerous to do. So I guess my only option is to use a heat gun. Anyone one know what kind of heat gun, what temp, and how long and hard is it to take off the lens with out messing it up?

I was gonna say bake it in the oven. Let's be real, it can't be too hard. Time consuming, yes. If you're gonna use the heat gun, heat it up until you can start taking it apart.. I'm guessing. GL.

do it on a low setting. Something like 250 degrees. Whatever you gas ovens lowest is. Just let the oven preheat first. Let it sit in there for a few mins. checking on it every 2-3 mins or so. It would most likely be safer to use a hair blower.

Use your oven. I've done this to my Oem headlights. Just get a baking tray with a moist towel under it. You can have it in oven at 235 but when I did my first headlight it to about two hours to get it apart at a low heat the second headlight took about 10 min. Had the oven at aroun 275-280 for like 2-3 min n came off with ease.

  5. Is your oven gas or electric? Because the problem Im running into is everywhere online is saying its dangerous doing it in a gas oven which is what mine is.
