Yay! Yet another Question from me but you guys have been good to me. Out of curiosity who has tinted their windows? Any complications? And the biggest question is which brand did you hear works the best ? or even preference.
Just take it to a tinting shop and get a quote usually all around tint is that expensive. Im not sure where you live but i got my tint done for $130 that was all five windows.
Original price of the guy I went to was $180, I believe. But, there was another guy that said he would do it for $150, so the original guy lowered his price. Lol. Wound up paying $140 for all 4 windows. He gave me the strip across the front for free.
Yeah i watched some youtube "How to" videos on tinting. And honestly im pretty confident in doing it myself. But I suppose a qouta wouldnt hurt. I just need to get a spray gun, hard card (credit card in hand towel ideally) a sqweegee (spell check) and sharp exacto knife for trimming. Maybe you guys should check out a couple videos and take a look. lol Im all about the DIY
Alright so heres the deal. I went to a couple places today asking about tint. Canadian Tire and Part Source. I bought a kit with the tools for 14$ Now im set Before all this I went and got a qouta....230$ cause 4 door WTF. They also told me I need new window gaskets cause the new model lancer is known for scratching the tint. Can anyone confirm this scratching myth. They were elike "230$ plus 4 gaskets which are 20$ each". I WILL NOT PAY 300$ + for f**king tint. Another question is concerning the legal laws here. Front window 50% back passengers 35% and rear 35% Would it look noticeable if i got the legal amounts or should i stick with 50% all around? p.s love you guys
Definitely go with 35% at least. 50% is barely noticeable. That's the legal limit for the front 2 windows down here, and I had it on for about a month and went back and got him to put 35% on for me. You could probably get away with going 35% all around. It's really not that dark. p.s. love you too
Well , can someone explain what gaskets are ? LOL ! And i'm pretty sure it's the same here also where i'm from ..
word, have fun with that, my sister tried it, its a lot harder than it looks, if you want your windows tinted save up the money and pay it and get it done right, theres somethings that the cheap way is a terrible way and that is one of them, i dont mean to sound like a dick, but based on experience dont waste your time.
Gaskets are the Rubber seals which your windows slide into at the bottom of the window frame. Yeah I know im iffy about it too. GRRRR. Yeah I think im gonna go with the 35% all around I live in canada. We dont have the "Shoot first ask questions later" situation down here hahaha. Not to mention Im a loss prevention officer ive gotten away with so many tickets already (knock wood).
HAHA ! Sick , I live in canada also .. Manitoba in general .. And i've been told by tinting shops that the gaskets on the new lancers are made with different material so they would have to put some kind of extra fur stuff to protect the tints from getting scratched from sands a particles stuck in the gaskets .. Anyone been told the same thing ? Ehh , i hate being 17 and into cars .. I got no cash ! :S
Haha nice I live in winnipeg too. Tintking told me the gasket thing. Anyhow I was thinking of modifying the gasket myself. Somehow. Any ideas?
funny , i live in winnipeg also ! And yea , tintking told me the same thing also . But i'm not too sure if there is any way of modifying the gasket , i'm guessing that we would have to take our risks .. :S
