I'm pretty sure whatever reads the speed from the transmission is either loose or no longer connected. Anyone know where I would find the certain part on the car?
Its either the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) or the cable from the sensor to the cluster. I would just replace both at the same time. Not sure of the part number, but this is what I got.... There is a small (8mm I think) bolt on one side of the sensor. Its a pan in the ass without dropping the trans mount, but it can be done. It also has a small clip....go ahead and order it also, cause you will most likely break it when removing the old one. Its one of those "push the clip, pull the cable" deals....only works half the time
I seen that sensor while looking at it. I was really hoping that wasn't it....lol thanks for the help man
I'm headed to fort Wayne for work, as I'm doing so I look to see how many miles I've driven after I reset the trip meter, it still says 0.0 and my odometer is stuck at 152487
I've researched a little deeper into this VSS issue. There are two speed sensors, unless this is a case in the 08+ lancers in which there is an external sensor and input shaft sensor inside the trans. Can anyone shed a little light on this? Jamie?? haha
Sorry dude, the only speed sensors I know of are the two ABS wheel speed sensors (not your problem) and the single shaft speed sensor that goes into the trans (VSS). No clue Brotha..no clue.
