    Look no further than MobileHID.com

8k and 10k are especially blue, and 10k will start to have purple hues. 8k and 10k are also significantly dimmer than factory HID headlamps, and while 8k is a bit brighter, they're still meant for show only. Not to mention in rain, fog, or snow, they make visibility difficult.

But, if you're really set on them, I'd sooner go with 8k than 10k. There's a reason why one of the most respected HID providers doesn't even supply 10k.

instead of installing an HID kit into a non HID headlamp aka halogen lamp, just upgrade the halogen bulbs. silvania has great bulbs that emit effective light. the effects of HID in the halogen lamp make for poor lighting.

While it is true that the reflectors aren't design for HID kits and there are a number of halogen sets that emit bright and white or blueish-white light as a HID kit will, those halogen sets (Sylvania Ultras are one set) are unreliable. It's not that HID will produce poor lighting in a reflector, quite the opposite. It produces rather good lighting. Scattering all depends on your reflector, lens, and cut-off quality. The biggest issue with HID in reflector housings is oncoming glare -- something the driver doesn't notice until they're in the path of it. Lots of people install kits without properly adjusting the headlamp alignment.

Sylvania, PIAA, and Nokya have bulb sets that "match HID", but violate the 51w stock OEM wattage maximum for the bulbs and will:
    a) melt the reflector
    b) melt the wires
    c) burn out every few months

However, most HID kits will require you to do a DRL bypass yourself. Do not be fooled by a kit that includes the bypass, thinking that it's a quality kit better than one from mobilehid. MobileHID doesn't come with a bypass, but it's one (if not *the*) best kit out there. It's fun fabbing the DRL anyway..

IF you can locate the parts locally and not have to order them in and get raped by shipping charges :(
