I want to buy these HID lights i saw on ebay, the reason iam going with ebay is because there only 54 dollars shipped. I want to if these would work for my lancer gts. Also if there would be any problems bc of the DRL on the lancer http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2759.l1259
most of HIDs are designed the same way, so if you going to get a 150.00 kit or a 29.99 dollar kit, there isnt much differences.. The components and wiring used it usually the same as long as they are made in USA.. if you going to get one from USA and another one from japan some components might be different. I had a kit from ebay once and i bought it for 30.00 as well and it lasted me long time,, yes the ballast did burn out because i had the lights staying on constantly... Now i did get slightly more expensive one i think 60.00 and i have the DRL's wired to my foglights..
Like Jake said, there's really not that big of a diference in quality. A lot of the time, all you're paying more for is the name. The things I would look for is the "plug and play" capability and the warranty stuff. I got my kit off of ebay and it has a lifetime warranty. Granted it was 70 bucks instead of 30. So just read everything not about the kit itself, but also warranty and return info.
Pretty much the same my cost me 80 and they are fine i have had them on for a couple of months now with a DRL bypass. All components for HIDS are made in China (just like everything else) with a few exceptions in Europe coming from Germany and some from Japan. Look for warranty like a lifetime or at least 12 months and if possible for digital ballast.
Are those all the things i need? I was reading online that you can get a flickering problem and i dont want that.
I have been looking for a straight answer to know exactly what i need as well. I know that if you buy a kit like this, and plug and play, your DRL will make your HID flicker, and that's not good. You could still buy it and turn the HID'S ON all the time. The inconvenient with this is that all the dash and radio displays dim when you do that. So on sunny days, you will not see what time it is, or what song is player etc. Is there a wire, or device, that can just plug and play into an HID plug and play conversion kit, that will allow the DRL to work as they work with the stock bulb ? If there is, please send a link. Thanks
I found the right guy and place !! My HID's got installed yesterday and everything works 100% !!! DRL ? Working (It lights up the HID's by itself) He's in montreal, Canada, but he has a nice web site. His kits seem good and after talking to him, it looks like he knows what he's talking about. He has a web site: http://www.hidkitsxenon.com/ I got a 8000k kit with the special cables (one on each ballast) that fixes the flickering issue with the DRL. Instead of flickering, or having to turn on your HID's manually every time, he has a special cable that fixes all this.
