Hey i was just wondering what kinda soap, rags, wax and what not you all use to clean your car. I live in florida so i need something to take off the bug platters and crap like that. Also do you let your car air dry or do you whip it dry?

    PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

I'm super anal when it comes to keeping my car clean. :D

I use Blue Coral Foam car wash. I try to stay away from these car wash with wax stuff.. don't know why, but just always did.

A jet spray head for the garden hose.

    Wash mit. Tire brush.

5 terry towels. One for each rim, and the last for after-touch.
About 15 microfiber cloths for drying. I can't stand air dry.. looks disgusting. :?

Turtle Wax Clear Vue glass wipes. I hate sprays.. haha.

Last but not least, Eagle One Wax As U Dry spray. Works wonders man. :D <--- applies in between washes only, not a replacement for waxing.

Never use paper towel..EVER! just an FYI. uhm.... get a maguires waxing kit so make your car shine.. laser car washes are good because nothing touches your car but water and soap.. they dont have those huge brushes touching ur car and scratching ur paint... take to a pro detailer and ask him about washing your car. But you cant go wrong with maguires.

    hm...
of my car is real dirty i usually do the whole shabang wash, clay, and wax

    I use
    mequires gold class car wash
    mequires clay bar and detailer
    mequires high polish wax.

BTW...when u wax ur car...be careful about getting that stuff on the black plastic parts...its like dye on that stuff. And if u happen to do.....the best detailing secret is to use a white eraser on it....works wonders

    let me think....

I use this Armorall gel for cleaning the car. It does not have any waxes in it, just straight soap. I forget the full name, but its a blue gel that you squirt directly onto the wet car or mit and clean it that way. Makes it easy cuase you dont need a bucket. I use a mit only for cleaning.

Next I dry my car top to bottom with any soft towels available. I also hate air dry, never looks as good as a good towel dry. After the outside is dry I do all the door sils, trunk sil, inside of gas cap, and under the hood.

(* note... anyone else hate how the rear tail lights hold the water behind them and it keeps leaking out... makes me mad, lol)

After its totally dry I use Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Shine paste wax and put a nice thick layer on the whole car... including the rims (makes it easy to clean them). Let it haze then buff off with a few micro-fiber cloths.

Next I use Armorall jet black tire foaming cleaner/dresser and spray up the the tires and let the foam do its magic.

Next is the windows. I only use good ol Windex... forget all these other brands and whipes... Windex is the best and leaves no streaks.

then its the interior... full vacum and armorall all the way.

I do this every time I wash my car... living in New England, I must build up a good thick layer of wax for the winter time. Road salt and sand is a nightmare here, so you gotta do it!

armor all is amazing stuff for the interior, that and a microfiber towel for in between interior cleanings.
