i've gotten it...its not that cold in texas, but when it drops from 80 in the day to 40 by morning then ya...i think it was the quick temp drop and then maybe barometric pressure, but hey, im no meteorologist so i dont know

Thats is what the "technician" at mitsu has said to several owners on this site and other 08 lancers sites as well.

yea i was doing some parking lot drifting when mine went off. i ignored it but it didn't go away next day, so i filled the tires up and it was gone.

i wouldn't dismiss it as a glitch right away, always better to double check.

Its normal to have a tire pressure drop when the temperature decreases. The air is cooler and more dense, but the oxygen (and other) molecules are not moving that fast (hence the drop in pressure). The higher the temperature the higher the tire pressure. On average you lose 1psi for every 10 degrees of temperature change. So when it goes from 40 degrees to 0 degrees you'd lose 4psi (technically) and you also lose 1psi over 30 days (on average). So in a given day (being really cold) you could have lost 4-6psi of tire pressure.

The biggest point is if the TPMS light is on, get the tire pressure set to manufacturer minimums and keep an eye on all the tires for any issues or future lose of air pressure. Anything below 25psi should be addressed as a flat tire.

^+1 to what he said. it happens to mine too if the temp drops quick enough. usually by the time i'm 5 miles down the road, they've warmed back up and the light will go out. if the light doesn't go out within 10 mi, i'll hit a service station and thow a few pounds in.

the samething happened to my wifes car. it was 3psi low and the light turn on. how low does the psi level need to get to turn on the light in the lancer? mine has never turned on, even if it was 2-3 psi low

the TPMS system is ridiculously sensitive unfortunately, a few PSI variables low and it can set off the warning. It happens to mine in cold weather when it is at about the exact pressure, I fill it a little higher just to control for that. just fill it up a bit more and you wont have to worry :)

now if you do that and you still have an issue, the sensors do go bad, it's not all that often but it's possible, I had mine replaced when I bought the car because they were bad.

a mine wnet off when it hit 1 degree farenheit
it sucks that out tpms is so sensitive.
