so i just bought my lancer gts a little over a month ago and this had to be the 3rd time iv washed it since then, and i use all the proper stuff like a wash mit, microfiber cloths, good car wash soap,ect... and i had the road block invisable cover put int he front of my car cause i dont want it damaged if i ever trade it in or anything, but today i found this one little spot on i and i applied a little pressure useing the mircofiber cloth and this is what happens.... im guna go in tomarow and get it removed, i think thats bs also iv noticed this car has pretty cheap paint its already getting scratched all over, i dono if any of you have noticed that but it makes me sad
Yeah...the first scratches are a bitch...but really the paint doesnt matter. Everyone is going to have their dents and scratches sooner or later. Such what that cloth did, I've never used one so I dont know exactly what material it is...but to scratch it like that...doesnt sound like its exactly cloth.
well thats not the paint i scratched, it was my roadblock protection cover and i think the reason was becuase since its made of some kind of plastic and it was really sunny today that it just heated up the plastic and i pressed a little to hard on it
nooo, its jsut the plastic, i can even see right under the rubber part, theres a thin line going across my hood, thats were the plastic starts
lol... picture it like a giant clear decal that goes over the front of the car. It helps protect the paint from rocks chipping. It is a wise investment on new cars. Watch those micro fiber clothes. They pick up impurities and can scratch your car...
cheap paint Hell yeah i found the new paint cheap as hell. I've already had to use the paint pen like 7 times three on the hood and four on the sides. I think the kids next door did those but i cant say oh well. But i went and asked and they told me it has to do with the fact that the new paints have more water less oil. This is a enviromently friendly paint which makes it suck ass hard. Again oh well what are we to do. Also where can you purchase that clear plastic protector? thanks
well i got the clear protecter at the dealer when i was buying my car he offered me the deal, its called roadblock protection, so yeah im pretty sure u get it at the dealer
Well its not that the paint is cheap, its the matter of protection over the paint. When you are getting small scratches and white pin stripe like marks, those scratches are in the clear coat. Which over time will wear down into the paint. It seems they are putting a very small coat over the paint causing all of these issues and when the clear is gone or scratched, then it starts diggin into your paint, which then gives you rust later. Its a very cheap paint job they are doing, thats for sure. I know this since my father has been in the business of painting cars and firetrucks for 40yrs. So it would be smart to look into getting a really good protection clear over the car and just keep a good wax over that once you have that applied. But you'll spend some money.
