So, no one ever told me you're supposed to change or clean that funky lil filter.... lol. It's been in there for about 6 months now so I dunno if it's due or not... I'm used to old muscle cars where you can tell a filter is dirty. SO... uh, what kind of replacement filter do I buy?? I have the RRM intake.
well you can look at the filter and if its turning black and has dirt on it id say its gettin old. RRM offers a replacement filter but you might be able to find a K&N that will fit
well if thats the case with RRM, then why do they sell a replaceable one. Sounds a little fishy to me
Ok, well, I have no idea how to "wash" or "recharge" a filter lol I figured I'd just buy a new one. The filter doesn't look dirty at all, but it's been on there for 6 months and like 5000kms (dunno what that is in miles lol) So maybe it doesn't need to be changed just yet .
i don't know why they sell a replacement, maybe because some people don't want or don't know how to clean the filter. i did call them and ask. i started to buy a new one, but i call first to ask if the filter is washable.
So are all the filters like that the same? I've seen some K&N ones that look similar to the one I have but I just wanna make sure I'm buying the right kind.
The RRM is washable and for anyone thinking it's fishy then you might wanna ask AEM and Injen why they sell replacements too. They all do.
Yea even Injen and AEM have dry filters now. Just some warm water being sprayed form the inside to outside and let the thing dry. Done 8)
So all I have to do is take it off, spray it with a hose and let it dry??? (and no one answered my question about what kind of filter it is yet lol)
