Hey guys, i would like some tips on some material and how to, on how to spray paint my bumper tomorrow, im goign to be gun hoe and try it, i painted the chrome grill today gloss black and it came out pretty good gave it about 4 coats, a coat every 15 to 20 mins i did. finally coat im letting dry over night.

    My pay tomorrow is :

    Sand down the middle
    2 coats of grey primer
    sand again
4 to 5 coats of gloss black
let paint dry for about an hr or 2
    apply 3 coats of clear
    let clear coat dry
    apply some wax
and hopefully look at a masterpeice :) (fingers crossed)

any thing you guys want to add please do so :)

If you go with the DuPont etching primer, you don't have to sand after priming it. The DuPont bumper paint does not require clear coat and gives that flat black look, voiding the clear coat (why would you want to clear coat it anyway? it looks better flat, but that's your choice if you prefer glossy)

I cleaned with soap & water, taped off the section, sanded, cleaned with degreaser, primed, waited, painted, waited, painted, slept, drove away.

I wubbles my DuPont spraybombs.. $41 for the two cans, but this stuff is so rugged it will outlast ever other painted bit on the car.

    ..
never go duplicolor. they're for toy models, not for vehicles.

reason for going glossy is cause i glossed out the grill won't it look retarted having a glossy grill but a flat black middle?? I would like to see a picture of yours close up if you could.

Also where can i get these spray cans at?

The DuPont bumper paint (which I bought at a NAPA store) has a ever-so-slight gloss which matches it almost perfectly with the grille. It is not a true flat, but it's not a high gloss either.

it was very tempting for me for the past summer lol, but i said ya noe fuck it, if i fucked up i would just buy the vinyle and cover it. It was easy and only spent about 15 bucks on supplys with plenty left over. So its great love it and gotten complements from coworkers already sayign it looks great so puts a hugh smily on my face lol :)

    Good work!

Is it just me or does the bottom half of the lower grill look like it's lighter than the upper half? Was the upper half sprayed?
