i have an 09 lancer es sport. i would like to make it track ready eventually. right now i am over in germany and plan to start working on the car after i get back in the states. but would appreciate some advice on what i need to do to make sure the car is able to handle the track. i already plan on turbo and internal mods and then lowering and stiffening the chasis and exhaust, but i guess what i am asking is it going to be worth it to take this car from every day driver to track beast and could it take it. also if anybody has built up the 4B11 and knows what kind of power i could end up acheiving. i have read some articles that hint towards 650+ hp being put out but not sure if its true. thank you for any advice or tips as to what i can do.
you should just get older car if u wanna race arounda track base lancer isnt the best choice, ive herd of around 500hp in the 4b11t but the car was AWD
Not worth it. The Lancer will NEVER be a track "beast". It can handle its own, in its own class, at autoX. That is about it.
Actually, you can have a decent track car and it double as a daily driver...look at me. Now, its not the most powerful car that I race against..but its not all in power. I'm only throwing down about 240hp but with my suspension setup, I can out handle a lot of others on the track.
^^ he is talking track "beast" and "+650 hp" which will NEVER happen. I did say that these cars can handle well for what they are, hence the autoX idea. It is safer for a DD, a lot of fun, and this allows you to really push the limits on the handling of the car. It is a lot of fun!
hey i appreciate all the feedback from everyone. i am going to start saving up and researching the best parts and upgrades i can make to this car to make it as good as it can be. if anyone has any suggestions on performance upgrades i should make please let me know. i am doing my own R&D but any ideas would be great.
