The only way to make it shorter is to cut it manually and get an after market knob... a short shifter is a completely diff thing than what you are asking for here...
No, just get an aftermarket knob make sure it's adjustable and can be fitted to different applications that way when u cut you'll be able to fit it w/o a prob. Good luck and please don't fuck your car up.
read it slowly.. saw-s-all its a registered trademark for a tool used in construction/auto/etc. also, why the hell do you need to cut the shifter for a cvt??? are you trying to take off .05 sec on your auto shifts?
Thanks BlueBallLancer. Furhter clarification, Sawzall® is a Reciprocating Saw sold by Milwaukee Electric Tool. You can cut pretty much anything with it, shrubs, trees, walls, metal... etc.
yeah, you're gonna make your shifter so much hotter by cutting it  wasn't trying to be funny, whats funny is what you're trying to accomplish with the cvt, i got a cvt its a straight commuter car now no real mod will do anything significant
take that back, a turbo will obviously be significant but doubt it will pass emissions so it will be a pain. plus the cvt can't handle high torque so it will blow up.
Yeah, that's you. It'll look way better shorter. I don't really give a fuck if no mods will do anything, its basically cosmetics and sounds for me. I already know our car is slow, its all good, it ain't tripping.
yeah dude i was joking around. to me it looks like it would have to be custom. cutting it and re threading it. i don't really know what the cvt shifter looks like without the knob, but i'm sure it could be done with some customization, some money, and time.
actually i would recommend a port-a-band saw for this particular application: btw. DeWalt pwns Millwaukee!
