Okay I am very scared right now and hope its not the intake that caused this. I installed my Fujita SRi today and it was fine. I went out and nothing was occuring and everything was just perfect. Then right now i went to wal mart to a buy some shit and on my way back the Service Engine light went up. I got home, checked all my fluids and everything is fine. I installed my intake properly and no idea if thats the cause but any help would be appricated. If a picture of the intake an how its installed will help ill get that up asap. I will also reinstall the stock SRI tomorrow to see if thats the issue.
From what you have said, I am betting its the fujita. If you take to autozone, they can check why the cel is on. Most likely it will give you the too lean code. That means your car is running rich and may have to adjust your sri. One way you can do this is to remove the terminal to the battery. Doing this will "restart" the computer in the car. If you still get the cel then replace it with the oem airbox and should return to normal. If not go to the dealership with all the oem parts on the car and ask him WTF, my cel is on
Thank god bras you're a genius! Did that and now the light is gone. I am guessing what happen was the system was remembering my old intake and since this one gives more power its showing that the intake is malfunctioning and to check it? But now since I rebooted the system it’ll get used to this 1 and will say check engine if I put in the old one?
your mistaken RedStar, even if you did disconnect the battery if you installed the intake wrong the code will return. If you return to stock the code would disapear. Check your installation make sure the intake is all teh way in the filter. This is a common error people have been having with the fujita sri. So go check your install
Intake is all the way into the filter? What does that mean? Also, error is gone now. But about that, do you mean the intake itself needs to be deeper inside the fujita pipe?
 When I used to have my Si I bought an ebay intake that had the hole for the sensor drilled to far up the up the pipe. This made the wires stretch to far and when the engine turned over it pulled the wires out. I stuck the original back and went to the dealer and got the whole "have you modified the car in any way?" bull shit. they tried to tell me that my stereo installer (aka me) must have pulled it out while installing my power wire. I told him he was full of shit and needed to warranty it. they covered half of it (best they could do they said). lesson learned put your game face on when going in for something like this. People are assholes. haha
did you disconnect your battery terminal when you were installing the intake. Thats what i did with RRM one and no code thank god, and now with the injen one and no code thank god.
How can u say they r a$$holes when u r lieing to begin with? This is what leads to loses for dealers and give you the ole saying " It will void your warranty". One vicious cycle. This happens more so I have noticed in this industry when people cant afford to buy the more superior products or when insuperior manufactures try and get into the game.
well ok I should rephrase what I said I guess. He really wasnt to bad and they did pay for half the fix for me. actually now that I think about it that dealership was pretty good about aftermarket parts. They actually kept my car out in the "service show room" because they liked it so much. I guess most of us only remember the bad experiences the best. I completely forgot about that stuff until now. and for good measure after this happened I dropped about 250 for an ingen sri and learned a good lesson about trying to get things done cheap instead of right.
Well i went out today again. 40 min later light came back. I got home, did the battery thing and it went away. I also took off the whole installation and redid it. Made things tighter and hopefully thing will do it.
I told you so, installation with SRI is picky of what i learned. I mainly think its due to the fact that the filter is so close to the maf. imo
So what do you recommend i Do finest if it comes back? I dont want to take it to the dealers cuz than they can void my warrenty 100% due to thelight comming up cuz of that. I might try some tune shop around here if the issue dosnt leave maybe they can help. I hope the way i got it now will help. Cuz i cant beleve bad things always happen to me. All you guys got intakes an it works fine 1 guy even got a mazda 3 and my shit dosnt work. Its just disappointing.
i had the same issue with RRM intake with my car. I could not get it to work so i sold it. But alot of people have had this issue so relax . It can be the filter shoved in to much to the intake and out to much. lil things like that can trip the code. or a badly mounted maf sensor. I wish you the best man .
Thanks so much man. Now I wont worry at least when that damn light goes on. First time it went on i thought my engine was gonna fuck up.
Actually more PENIUS than anything, lol...the fujita has been doing that, ask tatsujo for more info. But with disconnecting the battery terminal, usually solves the problem from my previous cai, sri from my previous and others I helped install.
my car just fucked up today! I was driving and out of no where i just lost all power! car stayed on but nothing. the rpms kept goign from 1k to 1.8k repeatedly. I seriously got scared shitless i was on a crowed intersection when it happend. So i parked disconnect the battery and let it warm completly up and it didn't happen again but now when im driving my rpms shoot up as soon as i put it into neutral and take like 10 secs to go back to normal!!! WTH!!!
