Okay well here it is all done up again...repainted it. I sanded it down smooth and in the process being a dumbass I ended up scratching up the bulges at the bottom so i sanded them up rough to add a texture and painted the whole thing blue.

I want to do something completely different though. I know I had said before about doing the 4B11 somewhere, but I dunno...I wanna paint the diamonds and the MIVEC lettering and then sand it down smooth again and paint it more, there's some spots that the paint built up on cuz I rushed...dumb I know. I'm wondering though...under the diamonds and MIVEC it's already black though, maybe just sand it a little bit with finishing sand paper and leave it that way? And the bulges at the bottom I'm debaing if I should repaint them a black or maybe even silver...who knows. I know they come black but like I said I sanded them, and i REALLY like the texture I got outta it, it's something completely different and set apart.

    SO any feedback is welcome!

I just sanded at first then wet sanded it because i wanted to start completely from scratch and get most the paint off...once I got it down to parts of the black showing i wet sanded so it'd be smooth.

I love how it looks with the texture thats why I sanded ti so rough...makes it stand out a little bit!

haha I never go for the norm i always need to do things completely different or I feel like I cheat myself...I'm wierd like that I guess haha.

I decided I'm gonna do the diamonds and MIVEC black now...match all the engine bay then haha...should be easy take some fine sand paper and rub off the silver finish rather than painting WHOOHOO!

    ALL DONE!!!!

I sanded down the diamonds and the MIVEC and decided not to paint it at all...it's black underneath. So I sanded the whole thing down again then rubbed it down with rubbing alcohol and a cotton pad on the back of some sandpaper my dad had laying around. Put ONE coat of blue on after I retaped it and then waited three hours and did a clear coat to protect the sanded symbol...

I think this looks freakin' hott! I still wanna do the spark plug cover, but like I said I wanna do a design rather than flat paint.

There are special paints made for plastics like krylon's fusion paint, but i've seen most guys using regular auto paint, engine paint and other high heat paints.
In my case, the paint i used is neither a plastic paint nor a high heat paint and so far it seems to be holding up great

    high temp paint

Yes high temp paint is required for painting anything in or on your engine block. regular paint will blister and peel off. Hardware stores carry it as do car paint shops.

The covers look good guys. Im doing mine in a red and the lettering silver. Im got the spark plug cover in c/f and sprayed a red candy over it. Im thinking of picking a new main cover up and overlaying it in real carbon fiber or make a mold of it and make it out of c/f and then spray a red candy over it. Who knows. Gotta get the damn thing back from the painters first.
