It shouldnt, maybe just a little quieter, because of the extra cat, the PZEV has, maybe someone with a PZEV could answer it more accurately
i got a pzev lancer and my exhaust sounds really nice...it has a low tone bass sound with or without my sri...if you wanna make it loud like cop noticeable loud have them remove the resonator and pipped it up from there...it also depends from what kind of exhaust you get...i got lucky on mine cuz i didnt know what kind of sound it was going to make till i got on
Well I have a PVEZ, and my exhaust sounds different from the other non pvez models. So if I was going to take out the resisnator, where would it be. I don't think it will matter if I take it out because I dod not live in a state with strong emmissions laws! Can someone help me with this?
the resonator is located before the rear axle it looks kind a like the catalytic converter but thats the one you are looking...cut it from there have custom pipped from there. ill look for an underbody pix and try to show where it is....
Do you guys think removing the exhaust resonator could mess up the car. I do not think it should bc then it would just be like the fed models.
Lancer. you have a ton of questions but i must ask. why aren't you considering a full exhaust system (say like Injen when it's realeased) instead of thinking about removing certain parts of the exhaust? you MIGHT see a gain if you remove the resonate but realistically you're looking at just having a louder tone then anything.
So do u think the injen header back will have the resantor?? bc I already have a injen universal exhaust, but I am planning on getting the header back if it does not have the exhaust resonator
i own the Injen Exhaust set up. It's the proto-type. Take a look underneath.... Stock (rosie o'donnell) Injen (Alyssa Milano) you'll notice from "front to back", the resonator is still implemented with the set-up. (very back before the Can)
okay don't take me as TOO much of a smartass, but you can go to any exhaust/muffler shop and they'll do whatever you want them to do. Assuming you got the cash for it. I see no point in removing the resonator. at all. Stock or modified
The reason i say it's trouble is because the Stock resonator AND Injen resonator are welded. (bolt-on parts make modifications much easier/smoother and allow for just about anyone with some tools to exchange it.) unless you do your own welding you'd HAVE to pay someone to remove and install a new pipe or resonator
no your dont sound like a smart ass lol. One last question, since my dad can weld he can do this no prob. I just want 2 know if this will mess up the car
