Problems with HID's Kit Flickering? Possible Solution

its possible also note that with that relay you can use any hid kit and bypass the drl's so they work with the parking lights

 

do you guys have daytime running light if you do that the reason your hid do that we have the same problem with the 04-06 lancers. they just turn on there light when the drive in the day

 

some people forget and then they start flickering

then you get pulled over and a big fine

i know i would like to aviod that situation

 

I just called Joe @ HIDlook.com. He said that if we buy the HID conversion kit AND the wiring harness he will only charge $10 for the harness.

I also talked to him regarding the issue of bypassing the DRLs all together. He said that he will look into it as he has had great success on prior models.

 

Yes sir. I am going to pick up the relay wire harness. Now I just have to wait on UPS/FedEx.

Yes sir. The package has not been shipped yet. Being that it's coming from the Midwest, I prolly will not get it until after Thanksgiving.

 

Ok. Bad news. The relay harness does not work probably due to the fail safe system inherently build into our cars. I will contact Joe at HIDlook.com to brainstorm possible alternate solutions.

*sigh* back to the drawing board.

 

the relay that I have makes the lights not flicker anymore, but sometimes only one light will turn on, and the other wont. another problem is they don't turn on at all, but mainly they don't flicker anymore. but you just cannot turn them off ever -.-

Start your car, take the e-brake off, the lights are on even when you don't turn them on. but there is no flickering.

The relay I have is a 30 amp relay. ( or thats what they told me )

Once I get back into the contry I'll take some pictures and such of the setup and hope it will help some of you, if this is the only fix they have.

 

hey guys i just got my relay wires but i'm confuse because they didn't send the instruction for install it and i don't know if i was suppost to order two one for each side or only kit cuz the tha i have look like is only for one side i paid $25 can somebody help me this,, also i read that it didn't work so i going to return it...

I have a 40 amp relay....in order to by pass the DRL you have to splice the harness into the parking lights....usually if u plug the relay into the OEM headlight plug...it will get power from the DRL's and trip the relay and send power to the headlights causing it to flicker. What u have to do is splice the relay into the parking lights so that it only gets power wen u turn on ur parking lights...so technically ur whole OEM headlight harness will be unplugged which means.....NO DRL's
