problem with something.

    I was driving my car the other day...06 lancer Ralliart. And all of a sudden the check engine light comes on and the car looses quite a bit of power. The engine sounds fine...makes no noise. It takes me about 3 seconds on first to get me at 3000rpm...and when there it cuts off just like the rev limiter does at around 6700. Like i said the engine sounds fine and it starts and idles just fine. Any suggestions on what this might be?? when i make it to fifth gear, the engine will ''rev limit'' at 3000rpm and exactly 100km/h.

    Limp Mode...your computer has detected some sort of "catastrophic failure." It may be somthing as simple as a multiple misfire or something like crank angle sensor failure. Just take it and get the codes pulled off your OBD II. That will tell you what has gone wrong.
