Hey guys Has anyone had any troubles with their moleskin? I had mine done in july....it was perfect for mad long. now they've started to scratch real bad. I pealed back the rubber and the moleskin is still intacted. I got mine at a really reputable place called Lorenzo Tinting in NYC. He does real nice work. I talked to him and he said the moleskin isn't a permenent fix..it just slows it down. He said he would redue the tint only....but if its gonna scratch again....y do it. so my question is////anyone having trouble with their moleskins???
yes so do i,remember that dirt will accumulate in the felt and will scratch your film,I new this was going to be a temporary fix...... 8O
sorry to hear this problem. In another car of mine it has the same situation. What I did was just trim the factory scrapper that butts up to the window and left it as that. There is a very small gap and I mean VERY SMALL gap but my tinit looks awesome for the past 2 years. If I were to tint the 08 I would do the same.
chet, no problems so far here. Wasn't done from the tinter, but by myself. But by all means, dust will accumulate and if you don't see it as a routine maintenance; it will pose as a problem. Phil, your a genius. There's an alternative solution chet.
ok. u know the plastic scrapper that laid up against ur windows b4 u had them tinted? Then they removed it and put the moleskin inplace of it. Well just remove the scrapper and ur done. I ur case just remove the mole skin. It may bother some people but if ur way to busy with life and just dont have the time to keep up on the maintance of keeping the moleskin dirt free then its the easy solution. Small lil gap but really, its no biggie. Just an idea.
my sis told me when they took it to the tint place (my family got it tinted for me while i was gone on vacation) that they said it was only with the lancers from first three months of production this is NOT a fact
^^ yea , to my knowledge all 08's are the same...I called up my dealership yesterday to see if there doin anything...the didn't say anything interesting...they are actually doin the moleskin whichi is temporary
yea my dealership said that all lancers needed em... so kru how do i remove that scraper...and whats the down side to doing that...i live in canada so i have snow 8 months of the year...will that matter or ... is it irelevent? cuz if so then i just saved 300 bucks
i came on today to ask if the mole skin was easy to install or a bitch to do lol guese this kinda answers that for me
