popping sound when turning 08 lancer

    i dont know what it is but when my car is parked for awhile and when i back out of my drive and turn the steering wheel i hear a big POP sound and can feel it on my steering wheel.what could this be.would it be my steering column ,rack and pinion?it sounds bad but i would like to know if neone else had had this happen to them.

    did u lower the car? If so it could be that the spring is not seated properly and needs to b re-aligned.

    well u have a warrenty just take it in and good luck. dont waste ur time with it here. get it handled. :wink:

    yea but man the dealer is about hour and a half away.so damnit i guess.

    id advise u to get that taken care of befor problems get to the point of no fix... 8O

    well i did take it to the dealer and they couldnt make the sound happen.they wanted me to leave it there overnight but i had no way of getting back home.after that,it has never happened again,weird :?
