to tell you the truth it looks better if you left the cover the same and painted what you taped off the same color as the tape hahah or it just me
lol, you felt the weight come off the engine plate??? the thing weighs like 8 or 9 ounces! how much does the CF plate weigh?

LOL! I totally missed the feet in there. I tried to keep them out but I digress. Anywho, the paint was duplicolor, I got it from Advance Auto Parts, its the metallic specks line. I did have a tiny spot peel when I was removing the tape so I would definitely suggest using some kind of primer made for plastic, like krylon, for it to adhere to. Then I used a spray clear coat to protect it and give it some shine. Turned out really well
For the paint, finish, sandpaper, tape etc. It cost about 20 bucks all together. Don't have an exact dollar amount though, that's just a guesstimate. I didn't use primer, though I would recommend a primer made for plastics, like krylon's, because I did have a very small bit peel when I removed the tape, and anything to help adheshion is worth it. Also use a knife to score where the edges of the tape meet the paint so it doesn't peel off.
