Hey guys I just installed my CF hood, not 5 minutes ago.

Too bad it was such a crappy day today that my car had to get dirty.

I'll get some better pics when the snow melts a little

i always wondered..what does open vent mean for washing your car and rain?
are the engines made to be able to be watered down?
cause all i really know about water and engines as a kid is my dad used to make me wash his truck and would always warn me about getting water inside the hood cause then the car woun't start.
he said spark plugs but since ours are covered what else can't get wet?

yeah I want to know whats the deal with that too especially during winter when the car is covered with snow. do you think a cf hood would look good on a black lancer??

Some rain on the engine is not going to give u problems, even when you wash your car, u dont have to worry about that. There is a reason that the hood has vents, its because gasoline engines run better at cold temperatures, even if it gets wet. As long as you dont go through a puddle that is deep enough for your exhaust to drink some water because that will stall your car.

someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure the small amount of wetness (snow, rain) that gets through the vent onto the engine won't do anything. The main thing is to keep the air intake dry from what i know cuz as soon as water starts gettin inside, problems happen.

So if i have a CAI and a vented hood i'm safe sorta?

and as for SRI if you throw on a hydroshield it would help a little more then butt naked.
