hey fellow lancers, im new to the forum here and also, a newb at all these car stuff and i need your guys' help i own a 2008 lancer gts and i want to purchase the Work Emotion CR-Kai wheel rims i get the 18" part in 18 X 7.5 but whats the 7.5? there are 3 choices 1) 18 X 7.5 2) 18 X 8.5 3) 18 X 9.5 what are the differences? and which one will fit my tires?
dont quote me on this...but i thinkthe stock gts wheels are 18 x 7.0 so anything but that u will need a new tire....the tire is 215/45/18 nice wheel choice btw....how much do those weigh??/ and how much?? the company i deal with is ordering me hyper black enkei evo5.....picking them up this sat....I can't wait!!!
i'd say it again..with looks and performance--you can never go wrong with 5spoke design (5split spokes in your case!). excellent choice,sir. tires?..225/40 18r or 225/45 18 r spec wheels should do. 225 is for the tire width in millimeters. 40 or 45 for aspect ratio/sidewall thickness(40% or 45% of the tire's width) 18 is of course the diam. Kumho or Yokohama
kumho performance tires are real nice. but I decided to go with pirellis all season...I was lookingat kumho's performance deiscription and it says not meant for near freezing conitions, and with me going to school in albany...that doesn't work well with me but if I moved to miami..that would be awesome on 2 different levels
oem gts wheels---7 inch wheel pairs with 215/45 tires yer werks emotion wheels--7.5(you said)inch wheel pairs good with 225s the wheel tub on the 08 lancer will accomodate up to 7.5 to allow for safe turns. i'm not sure about 8 inch, maybe it's possible regarding you have the right offset. oem gts wheels have 46mm offset offsets from 43-48mm is fine using 7.5s
Dont deal with anything larger than an 8 for the width...unless you want to have lots of fun with rubbing and fixing that. :?
