I purchased the RRM axelback about 6 months ago. The hanger that RRM sent was not properly welded so I had to create a makeshift hanger (which was steel). I live in Minnesota, and eventually it rusted through and snapped. Luckily I was in a parking lot, so I was able to get it secured pretty quickly. Heres the problem....Ever since then I have had this incredibly low pulsating tone coming at between 2000-2800 rpms. I removed the RRM and put my factory exhaust back on to try to eliminate it and I still get the same sound. The only other mod I have is a RRM v1 SRI, which I don't believe would cause this sound. I am concerned that my either my headers/cat/etc became loose, but I cannot figure out which it is. I will post video tommorow.
when it snapped did the exhaust fall to the ground?? Sounds like there is a whole/leak somewhere else in the exhaust system.
Thats what I am thinking too. Check by your CAT's and the next hanger points to see if the pipe bent.
I will check this weekend when I can get it up off the ground. It sounds like its coming from the front half of the car, I am afraid that it may have pulled the headers away or something. If you guys are right, is it typically something that can be fixed, or will it need to be replaced?
