I just bought lamin-x tint, tried putting it on, and by far was so pissed off i just did a horrible job and left it. Does anyone on here have lamin x on there tail lights instead of spray or is it just me cause i need major help.

I ended up looking at a tint film for the taillights and for the curves and crap it said heat it up with like a hair dryer so that it conforms better but honestly i didnt like it at all how it looks because the film does warp a little so i ended up just taking it right off.

I've heard mostly bad things about blacking out your tail lights with film. VHT is just so much easier. A friend of mine and I sprayed one of his stock tail lights. I think we put 2 maybe 3 coats on it, and they were black. Just sand it down to a rough surface, and then spray the VHT. You can put a clear coat over it if you like, but you don't need it.

The only thing is I need to have a way to take off the VHT if I would get pulled over. I did the film because of that and it looks awesome except if you get really close and see how bad corners are haha. Ill post pictures later this weekend.

the only thing is you aren't supposed to use paint thinner on the plastic lenses

i read a thing on using a light sandpaper and wet sanding the tint and then using a buffer to redo the shine

Ill look that up later. Im going to wait probably a month, if no problems Im just going to paint them with my RC tint spray I used for side markers and reflectors
