When I got into my car the keyless entry opened up the car, but for some reason wouldnt turn the car on, so then i took the key out and used that, but the key still wouldnt turn. I figured out that sometimes you have to turn the wheel a little bit to get the key to turn so i did that with the real key and the car wouldnt turn over, like it was out of battery, so i called my dad to give me a jump and while i was waiting i tried the keyless key again and it turn over fine??? so do we have a weird security system or a backup engery supply, becaue i am very confused about what happend.
since this thread has some views and no reply's, i'd suggest calling and talking to the Tech's at your dealer. That's the fastest, accurate route i'd go for some answers. Hope that problem was isolated. Your car not turning on (being brand new) would certainly suck ass.
Isometimes get that problem but i use two methods to fix it for me. 1. take key out of pocket and try to let the car sense it. 2. hold the stering wheel slightly to the left then turn on. those two ways always work for me.
Depending on how Mitsu has setup the engine/ECU to read the FAST key technology and how it affects the security of the vehicle, it may just be a temp issue. For example, if the car misreads the signal from the FAST key and thinks you are someone trying to steal the car, it may trip a temporary cutoff/kill switch. Not a fancy one like you would get with a Viper brand alarm anything, just one that may, for instance not allow you to start the car for 5 minutes or so. Many manufacturers are starting to add this as a part of their keyless entry systems because of 2 main reasons: 1) A theif does not want to wait to take your car. Any delay brings possible unwanted attention as well as gives them less time to escape unnoticed. 2) A theif wants the easiest, simplest theft as possible. If they know your car may trip and then they have to wait a few minutes for them to try again to take it, they would rather walk to the car next to it and take that one that is just a simple unlock/pop the column/turn over/go.
