hey guys i got a key recut and it turns on the car like the lights and stuff but not the engine is there a reason why? could it be the key?
depending on the model of ur vehicle ur probably need to go to the dealer to have the key programmed. most cars these days come with anti theft built into the ignition, that pretty much means any cut with cuts that match ur cars will turn ur lights on and stuff but wont turn ur car on.
i got an auto starter on my car and if i get it re program will it affect my auto starter? as well if i remove my chip from my old key and put it in the new one will it work ? my key got ran over playing go kart some one ram me and my key fell out
u can try swapin the chips over but chances r it got distroyed when it go ran over. as far as ur auto starter goes i dont think it will affect anything, if ur auto starter worked with ur old key then ur new key should work just the same once u program it. BUT look at payin close to $100 to have ur key programed
