It's 2 AM and I have nothing to do other than day dream. Thus... The list! It's a rough estimate but it really helps put things into perspective. I know a lot of the parts have a "Do Want" factor of 10 but that's because I do want everything So what do you guys think? Anything to add non performance wise?
If you buy or have bought those hid's, they are over priced. Go to DDMtuning.com for THE best hids. I'd go with a 55 watt kit, but their 35 watt kits are still very nice. And cheap. They're even on sale right now.
Your definately right on it putting it into perspective with the actual costs, plus shipping and stuff.... i actually have done the same thing with my car, an excel spreadsheet with all the parts i want.
Yeah it really helps. I know I'll need at least another 500 for shipping and some extra for taking it to a body shop for things like the front lip. Not to confident in my body work and painting yet lol. On that website it says What about relay's and everything? Also if I want 8000k colored bulbs with a 55w ballast then what colored bulbs should I pick? It says the 55w washes color out so I wouldn't know which one to get.
K so just looked around more on that DDM and they cost the same amount for the kit + the harness. It's $80 for the kit plus $20 for the harness. Plus I've never heard of them so I don't know anything about them.
Just get the plug and play kit. I hate relay kits. I just ordered my 55 watt 5000K. What color are you looking for? I can show a picture of a friend of mine's truck with 55 watt 12000K, I think. Either 12 or 10. And they're bluish, but not too bad. And why are you looking to get a relay kit so bad?
I want 8000k. A little blue but not too much. Like what AMG has. I don't know a whole lot about HID's... I thought you need the relay lol.
No. If you just buy the 55 watt kit then it comes with what is known as a plug n play kit. Just plug these connections into your stock bulb connections and wire them up to the bulbs and ballasts and everything. Really simple. I've done many installs for hids. Lol. And relay kits are the worst. When you said you wanted it, I was very confused as to why. I'll get my friend to send me a picture of his truck, and post it. On their website, they say "Our 55w HID kits are 40% brighter than the standard 35w kits. The 55W system ballasts are about 1 cm longer than the 35W ballasts. 55w kits tend to wash out some of the color of the HID bulb due to the light output( for example, a 55w 8000k will look similar in color to a 35w 6000k kit)." So that might be right, but for them, their lights really aren't blue at all. My friend's dad's truck has 35 watt 6000K from them, and there is barely any blue at all. But, I'll get those pictures from him today, and post em up here so you can see what I'm talking about.
Alright thanks. Is there really any reason to get the 55w kit? And I was looking on AMG's thread and somebody said you need a harness if you're getting the 9006 bulbs (low beams on 2008-09 Lancer). Plus I'll still need the bypass from jrox so do you know if this kit is compatible?
I have no clue. You could shoo them an e-mail and they'll probably know, but I've never heard of NEEDING a relay harness. The 55 watt kits are just a lot brighter than the 35 watt kits.
Yeah. I've been talking to some people and I'm not sure about DDM. I'm willing to pay a little extra for more support as for installing and what they look like. I haven't seen any Lancers with the DDM kit but there a bunch out there with AMG's kit. So if I need help, I've got a lot more support rather than e-mailing 1 dude and waiting a long time for a response.
Ok. Your choice, big dog. I just know from experience that DDM's are really nice. I like their slim ballast's. I've had to install a few normal sized ballast, 35 watt kits, and then switching over to something that's a quarter of the size of a normal ballast was just really nice. You can fit them in a lot more place, being that they are so much smaller than other ballasts, and you get a lot of wiring so you can find a little put of the way place for them. But, I know where you're coming from about being able to talk to other people about the same thing they have. Just figured I throw it out there for anyone who wanted a good, cheap hid kit.
Yeah I appreciate you're input. I don't have a whole lot of money right now so I think any modding over $75 is out of the question for a while I think I'm getting the side mount and blacking out the front bumper after I get back from vacation then waiting to do anything until mid winter when I'll have a decent amount of money gathered up.
