Hey Guys, I'm looking at buying a normal lancer rear spoiler. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PAIN...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories My only concern is installation. It's not too intense is it? Also, is that a good price for one?
YEAH ITS REALLY EASY! just need to open the trunk and check the holes... they are allready market, drill, and put the spoiler
Alright, I purchased a Black One for 115.00$, thought that was reasonable. Drilling holes in my trunk, how can you screw it up, right?
$115 isn't bad at all. The only thing I'd be worried about is cracking the paint or entire trunk itself. Drill a pilot hole then get bigger until it's the right size. Don't go drilling a half inch hole in your bumper otherwise you'll have a nice spiderweb where your spoiler connects.
Id have it professionally done if you dont know what your doing. I bought one off ebay when I had my ES and it did NOT line up with the holes on the underside of the trunk.
if you can, just take the bolts that come with it, screw them in the spoiler, and see if they line up with the holes, if not, get it done by a pro
Yikes.. Yeah I'd definitely check to make sure the holes are the right length apart and everything. Measure twice cut once right?
Did u open ur turnk and look? u cant miss it if u cannot figure it out , just go get it done at a shop, it isnt complicated, look at the spoiler and notice where it sits on the trunk, open the trunk and look around the area where the spoler site, you will see the marked holes. (little circles not drilled). then u take mesuring device and mesure the gap between the bolts on the spoiler. If the bolts on the spoiler are 6 inches apart and the marked holes on the trunk are only 5 inches apart then it wil not fit. you will have to measure 6 inches and drill new holes. its just common sense
And in case somehow there's a major misunderstanding.. you're going to have to take off the carpeting stuff. Just don't want people drilling through their clips thinking those are the holes for the spoiler.
If he purchased the standard spiler he only has 2 holes per side, no need to remove clips to take off the carpeting. Drill a small hole first then use a bigger bit.
Oh wow I didn't even realize the holes were that far off to the side of the trunk. My bad. Thanks for the picture though.
So that's where the holes are! I tried to take off the carpeting and i ended up breaking 3 of the black fastener thingies -_- (ripped it off with brute force) before I realized I might've been doing something wrong. Hopefully that's where the holes are in relationship to my spoiler.
