I went for a drive up to st. louis yesterday. the weather was great, so i decided to TILT open my sun/moon roof. traffic was sh!tty on the way home. when i got home i was so freaking tired that i went straight to bed. when woke up, you guessed it- it was raining like hell. i then realized that i forgot to close my roof. now, my interior is soak. my front seats, console & my head liner to be exact. no one else to blame but me.

is there any way to get rid of those marks when they come out? im sure they will after a day or two. and how do i keep my seats from smelling, coz im pretty sure they will too. thanks.

and lay newspaper on the seats and carpet, unless its a light color, in order to soak up the water faster. kinda like in big daddy w/adam sandler.

I did the same thing in my civic except it was only for about 3 hours. The seats were soaked though. When I lightly pushed my finger into it, water came right up.

So what I did was laid towels/old shirts rags all over the seats then sat in them for a bit to soak up the water. Did that a few times and it dried out quite nicely...no stench.

If it does stink, vinegar is good at removing that smell...except i don't know which is worst, the smell of vinegar or the wet sock smell.

i swear im never gonna open it again! well, maybe till i forget this happend. lol. weather is the same tomorrow. hopefully we'll get some sun on thursday.

@ironballz- i think the wet sock smell would be a lil more pleasant to the nose. lol. im not expecting it to dry up soon. the weather just isnt cooperating.

the smell is caused by the mildew that growes. all you have to do is get as much of the water out as you can and then let it dry out one day when its hot outside. a lil febreeze and thatil do. it happened in my truck the windows were half down all night.
