That people are selling what you can get on ebay for $80

Pedro dont waste your time and money and go with the ebay ones. Mine has been on 24/7 for 11 months straight, and you know how they look ;)

You guys need to understand something... All the "conversion kits" are all the same... Anywhere, at any cost, they are the same... Yea all the vendors are going to try to tell ya that theirs are "teh shyt" and theirs are different and that's why they want to make over 300% profit on you with a kit. Why am i so sure about this? Cause I was going to retail this kits. I did some DEEP research and i know the distributors of all the main people that sell the "kits" I know the cost, I know the wholesale and i know the retail prices on them. Obviously I am not going to disclose this prices. I am a business graduate, I know my limitations and ethics of the business. I just didn't get into retailing cause i didn't have enough profit to get a starting batch of kits.

That's why I always say, that the MAX you should pay for a "kit" is 100 SHIPPED and with WARRANTY of at least 12 months. Over that, its just overpriced. Obviously vendors are gonna try to pitch you their product as something new, innovative and different. That's all part of the game called "marketing" ;)

Now if you want to get a REAL quality HID system, you have to piece it up.. you need to get your ballasts, ignitors, lamps, harness and retrofit your headlamp. Usually the best thing to do is to retrofit some projectors. You will modify your headlamp to fit the lamp anyways, so might as well go for the projector...

Now a project like this wont cost you less than 3-400$ ;)

I agree with Ektor ive had mine in for almost 5 months now 24/7 no worries, and besides most companies rip you off blind. You should pay no more than 100 bucks. I got mine 150 taxes in from my dealership because i didnt want to wait for it to arrive lol. But again investigate maybe one company has built a unit to bypass the flickering?? now that would be nice. Anyway good luck.

If you're referring to me, as it turns out I didn't.
The ballasts are legit and they are switching to them and improving at the same time. With a required current draw of almost 50%, that's quite an improvement. I just installed them today and put them through a 100km shake down, and no issues with them. They just neglected to inform people on the website what the new ones look like.. but that should change I hope. The site in question for those that don't know is mobilehid.com. Check any forum for any manufacturer, and the most recommended single brand name is theirs and it has been for a long time. I really can't see them screwing people all of a sudden.

I'm happy with them, the 5000k kit really sets off the car. I hate >6000k kits as they're stupidly blue and you actually get much less light output. Might as well run flashlights taped to the hood.

We do have to worry about glare though with the stock reflector housings.. peeps, make sure to get the lamps adjusted for height or do the projector retrofit. It's expensive but it's worth it.

Is there any HID conversion kit that will work out of the box with DRL ?

And if not, all of you made some modifications to have the HID kit work with DRL ?

    Thanks

I have a few more, but I'm still trying to pick some good ones.. out of 40, I think I can salvage about 3 :( Oh well, it's a process. Since these are 5000k, they're diamond white so the CCD on my XTi doesn't colour shift them into stupid blues or purples. I really like how that nasty yellow is gone from them -- the yellow is where it belongs now (fog lamps)..
oh and highbeams, but I'm changing those over as well to some white halogens.
