OK, I've asked this question many times in all the threads relating to HID conversion kits.. but had no answer to any of them..

So.. what is the problem with DRL and HID conversion kits? What's wrong with daytime running lights leaving the HID's on?

Now.. did anyone go through with this already and can you post pictures or give your opinion on before and after. Thanks.

Having it on to long might melt your teminal and HIDs don't have a long life span I dunno if I'm right but that's what I remeber

hid are suppose to last 3or 5 times longer than the regular lights, also consumes only 31watts,regular use 55w so you are saving 24w just for you car so her it is...you will have to turn hid during day time because they will blink like strobe lights is you don't,good luck,i have hid 8000k in my 08 baby

So there isn't anything wrong with it? It sounds like HID is actually better with DRL from the way you explain it.. correct?

Where'd you buy the HID kit? I've seen them on ebay, but, not sure if I trust it enough.

there is a thread relating to the DRL/HID issue. Something was said that the dealer can "reprogram" your ECU to turn off the DRLs. I would say look over at their site for additional information.

Me and a buddy found a way to avoid the flickering on the DRL's of my Lancer GTS. After hours of trying to disable the DRL, I decided to leave the lights on 24/7 as long as I do not have to manually turn them on. The fix will allow the lights to stay fully on as soon as the ignition starts, without having to manually turn the lights on. The fix required no rewiring, or cutting of cables. Quite an easy fix and would not void any warranties. Pictures of my fusebox will be up soon on how to fix the issue.
Just need to take out a relay and run a 2 inch wire from one socket to another in the fusebox.

The only reason why you would turn on the headlight knob at night would be for your rear and interior lights to turn on.

I recommend getting 6000k bulbs anything higher would be dimmer and too blue IMO. If you guys are interested I can talk t my supplier for groupbuys. Can't post on market place yet bec im a new member. :p
