Well I got my tints about 3 months ago and I noticed that all 4 windows have scratches from top to bottom. I got a life time warranty on them. When I went to the place where I got them done they said its not covered because its a factory issue. He clams that the rubber on the windows need to be changed. He told me to go to the dealer and have them replaced the to come back and he would do the tints again for free. So I went to the dealer and that said that its not their fault? Has anyone had this prob? Please help. Thanks Dolf
the problem w/ the lancers (actually most mitsus) is that the rubber on both sides of the window tend to always scratch tints and mitsu is always an ass about it and say that it's not true ... the solution to the problem is to buy moleskin strips and apply them onto ur door panel =)... or buy the moleskin strips and ask ur tinter to install them
just to add... here's one site of many u can get it from... http://www.tintprotector.com/mitsubishi/index.htm
I have the same problem here has any one tried to install the Tint Protector ??!!! is it friendly user ?

it shouldn't be that hard... just uninstall ur door panel and put the mole skin on the inside of the rubber lining... u might be able to do it w/o taking out the door panel, idk cuz i've never done it before, but by the looks of it, it's really easy to do (as long as u know how to take off the door panel)... so look around the forum forgot where, but there's a thread on how to take out ur door panel, and move on from there =)
My tints got scratched but it's really not THAT BAD... I don't really see why everyone complains about it ? I don't find it's all that noticable.
moleskin/tint protector doesn't totally prevent scratching, its just slows it down. I have had them for about 6 monthes, It was perfect for about 3 monthes and now they are started to scratch but at a slower rate then if I didn't have the moleskin
yea tint protector doesnt work.. and they dont give u enough... they only give u enough to put moleskin every 3 inches apart or so.. they dont give u whole strips for the entire door.
i had the same prob.. i brought my car back to them and they said i need more mole skin.. so i had them install moremole skin and its good so far.. i have had a prob.. there are marks on the outside of the window that can be rubbed off.. but no scratches.. well theres a few at the very very top.. but u cant see them when the window is rolled up cause it goes into the rubber at the top of the door.
I hope mitsu offers something, Does anyone know if the old lancers had problems?? if not, I wonder why they changed he different type of rubber
