I know I want to lower my car but I'm not sure by how much or what to get. I know that I want just simple springs, coilovers are too expensive right now. I want it lower than it is now but I don't want to have to go 5 mph over railroad crossings. So far it seems like my options are:

    1. RRM Grip Kit
    2. Tein S-Tech
    3. Works

If anybody could give me any information as to what they think would be best and better yet have pictures of any of these kits could you please post? Oh and I'd also like to keep my stock rims and tires and avoid buying other things such as sway bars and camber kits.

    Thanks!

Well, I had the grip springs for my 7gen RA and I loved them. I'm not sure how close they are to the RRM setup, but the ride was pretty good and I think the drop was 1.5F and 1.3R. I would still be running with them, but I had to swap them back out when my wife was pregnant...she said it was starting to get hard to get in and out. As for sway bars, there's really no need unless you are doing track days or autoX. I have the progress kit from RRM, and it makes a huge difference on the track.

Yeah I'm not planning on doing any auto x lol. But I thought I saw in another post somebody said that if you lower you should get strut bars?

i heard GRIP is a safe drop, but i never heard complaints about them, and they are probably cheapest because its not neccasry for chamber kits

Works i never heard anything, but you don't need chamber kit either becasue it's less then a 1.5 drop

and teins gives you an amazing drop, but you need a chamber kit since it's such a huge kit, i heard they ride really well also, but i've heard a few bad reviews

Oh yeah them too. As of right now I'm leaning towards RRM's Grip but I don't think I've seen any cars with them on. If somebody could post a picture preferably from the side that would be awesome.

u dont need a camber kit for teins, if u get an alignment it will b good....... its a common misconception that a huge drop ull need a camber kit, the teins arnt slammed 2 the ground, just an alignment will b just fine

but doesnt matter which springs u get, just remember rite after u get ur car lowered u should get an alignment done

im sure RRM springs or works springs will b ok for the winter, but if ur worried about being the community snow plow then get coilovers so u can adjust them

personally im not a big fan of megan products so i would never recommend them, but alot of people here love them so everything is personal preferrances

Didn't you get my PM? I had to pay off some medical bills so I won't be able to buy really anything for a while. Sorry man.

And I was looking around today and saw a WW GTS with Teins and it looked amazing. Teins are now my first choice lol. How do you know if you need a camber kit? Just if you hear/see your tires rubbing?

droping lower than 1.5" will mess with the suspension geometry and handling will get worse. I have the works springs and really enjoy them. no camber kit, light rear toe adjustments needed.

If you do drop below 1.5 will you need a new set of shocks?

    yes and no

even if u lower ur car ur stock shocks will wear out faster so ull need new shocks faster but will u need new shocks rite after u lower ur car, no

Yeah I just wanna make sure I'm doing everything right before everything starts wearing out and I HAVE to spend money. I'd rather save up, get what I need and not have any too unexpected maintenence fees.

    Then get coilovers

Their a little out of my price range for now.. but maybe. Do you need anything with coilovers like camber kit or no?

I've done a lot more homework now so I kinda know a little more what I'm looking for. Coilovers keep sounding better and better but I haven't heard a whole lot from people who have them. Just people that want them lol.

Wow just looked up Megan's on RRM. $870 is a little more than I was thinking... I might just go with $200 for the Grip Springs and wait for my shocks to give out.
