I havn't raced my car at the dragstrip, but normally everyone burns out before they go, and i was wondering how to burnout with the cvt?
    is it possible?

Burning out is done to warm up the tires, to get grip or better traction. unless you have slicks, you really dont need to. Especially if you are running the stocks.

you can't burn out in a CVT unless you put your car in neutral, rev it high, and shift to drive...given this won't help your CVT over time and not recommended.

Now I'm on 100% this will work on our cars but when I had my Civic auto it worked. Haven;t done stuff like that to my 08 cuz i burned my tranny out in my Civic at 120,000 miles...yeah...I was REALLY REALLY stupid...live and learn

    :D j/k

You can do a neutral drop, but it is not recommended as AZN stated. I didnt see any burnout when a cvt ran at a drag. 5speed FTMFW.

Yeah I use to try and "burn out" on my old car by doing the neutral method, but it screwed up my car later on.

ok guys...i aint no expert at this but i have done burnouts in an automatic car before....the only way that i know other than the neutral-to-drive (and this will fu** your tranny up...been there, done that..lol) is like redline said...by holding the ebrake while your flooring the gas...but in order to do this you need a good amount of WHP, and a good arm pull to hold the ebrake up...if you just wanna burnout to get better grip (like bras said, and you should if your on stock wheels) then you could also, depending on the drag strip rules you could apply some oil to ease it up a bit for the car....keep in mind if you do so, you also have to give you ride a good amount of cleaning time...note that you will have oil all over it...hope that helps..

burning out period isn't good for your tranny or engine or anything for that matter, your forcing high rpms in order to keep your tires from regaining traction.

when a car burns out before a drag its to get traction so when they take off their tires grip nice, seeing as not even gunning it will make your tires lose traction on CVT your pretty wasting your time attempting to burn out, unless you wanna look "cool"

    &like bras said..
