HELP! My GTS has a funky noise!

    please help its coming from the passanger side seems to be linked to my cvt it rattles and knocks when i go over bumps mainly when im in paddle shift mode. ive brought it to the dealer and couldnt find anything loose..when i have my hand on the shifter i can feel it with my hand. My bf is a auto tech and seems to think its the cvt chain/belt? its really annoying and it even rattles when i start it!! and i have been getting a no start sometimes also :( its got almost 26,000 on it i love this car its actually my 3rd lancer! Any suggenstions?????

    3rd 08 lancer? sucks on the problem, 5spd though so not shure. and welcome to LT.

    i think she just meant third lancer like she used to have an older model

    i used to have an 02 es then moved up to 06 ralliart and now the o8 gts and its automatic but i love ot use the paddles and slap shift. and thats when the noise is very evident and rather annoying. :roll:

    Welcome to the forums.

    Since the car is still in warranty I'd keep taking it back to the dealership until they find the problem. Just for kicks I'd take it to another Mitsu dealership and have another set of techs look at it.

    thanks!! well i would take it to a diff dealer but its like 100 miles away but its so noisy something connected to the shifter is loose i know it!! its like when you get corn stuck in your tooth an cant get it out. :lol:

    Usually the dealer will not fix it untill it breaks. So just let it break and than call the transportation service we get and they will tow the car to the dealer and get it fixed.
