Ok guys watsup, recently bought a Lancer 09 ES Sport, really stylish car love it, got the gray paintjob. Basically have a few questions, first off with intake, which is the best for my 2.0L engine, i know it will be based off personal opinion for some but Im new to this so all the help is greatly appreciated. Another question is which is the best exhaust for my car i like loud and don't mind it. Also in terms on tinting my windows it's my 1st car so i've never done it before. Opinion wise for the gray Lancer that I have what is the best matching shade to get for my windows, I will tint all my windows except maybe the front windshileld but will tint the front rear one's as well. I live in NJ well aware of the law but have several PBA's lol. So what would be the best tint % for my color. I was also looking to venture off into LED's for the interior and possibly the exterior. In terms of putting LED's in the interior since im new to cars, how would i go about getting that done. Where should I buy from whats good LED's to buy I want LED's to match the inside lights of the car in this case orange. Where would I go about buying the parts i would need to get that done. Also for the lights I was thinking of HID's, what HID's would I need. I know most of these questions probably are already answered but im new and would enjoy the personal opinions to better make my choice. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am also looking for rims that will probably be saved for last. But which rims are the biggest I can do but still manageable and looking sexy. Wow, lots of questions. Instead of having everyone post their opinions...check out the progress reports. You can see what everyone has done...what brand parts...color combinations...all that. It seems to be easier to make a decision when you can see what something looks like before you buy...at least i have.
im not an expert on ur questions but i do know that i have the injen cai and it is the best by far for our cars and none of the other ones will compare to this one. i have had both short ram and this one. this one is a keeper the rest just find a civic or 2 and ull get some ideas lol
Not sure if you've ever had tint before but i'd suggest 30% for the back window, so you can still see at night and 20-25% around the sides. This way you still get that nice dark look. I'm actually about to get mine re-done. Some punk ran around my neighborhood with a bb gun and shot out two of em... :-( punk. lol As for rim, i'd suggest going to http://www.discounttiredirect.com and checking things out there. They have nice prices nd a good selection. I have 17's on mine with a nice meatie tire, look good. lol As for the HID's, I have yet to get but will prob. get these. I found them through the forusm http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p=product&id=102&parent=85 also you would want to look into the DRL Bypass switch for any HID (to help them last longer and prevent flicker) http://lancertuners.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=7118 As far as intake goes, SRI is better for bottem end and CAI is better for top end. To help everyone out I'll make a nice easy to fill out questionare! 1. Intake - 2. Exhaust - 3. Tint - 4. LED's - 5. HID's - 6. Rim's - 1. Intake - RRM SRI is cheap and easy install, Injen CAI is cool but seems more difficult to install. Nothing too complicated. 2. Exhaust - Injen SES if you're looking for less loud and deeper/better noise. Sound clips --> viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3920&p=48894&hilit=exhaust+sound+clips#p48894 3. Tint - 35% is noticable, not the darkest but less likely to get pulled over. 4. LED's - Doesn't really matter where you get them.. their tiny light bulbs. Search interior glow and you'll find a ton of pictures. 5. HID's - AMG on here sells a kit for $100 and you'll also need a DRL bypass from jRox for $60. 6. Rim's - COMPLETELY personal. Check out tirerack.com or you can really google rims and find a few sites. If you have the GTS rims, get some 18's so you don't have to pay for tires or if you have ES 16's it'll be a little more for tires or you can get the same size and use your stock tires. ^^ All these are just my opinon, I don't have any of these so if I said something incorrect, correct me.
