Anyone have a preference? As of right now the only company I know that makes them for the 09 ES is RRM. However, I've seen ssome of you guys rant about how you don't like RRM products. Anyone have sound clips, advice, input on what to get? Currently I have an Injen CAI and Injen axel back exhaust.
I have the RRM headers and have had no issue with mine (09 GTS) I have had it for awhile now and I'm happy.
Nope.. None of those issues at all. In fact they still look brand new. If I remember, I'll take a pic and post it. Still look like they did the week I got them.
Headers are a stright forward swap. You will need some upper body strength to rmove the current one as they are torque on there pretty decent. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
I haven't read any thing bad about rrm headers so far, but i did read that their exhaust rust pretty fast and their pulley damage the shaft it is connected to and cause oil leak. I am not sure if they have fix that problem yet and if your going to do a lot work yourself then you should get a torque wrench so it will be a less tiring job to do.
I know the Exhaust now comes ceramic coated so the older version may be the rusty one. Dont see how the pulley could cause a leak though. It goes on the crank and doesnt contact the seal itself. Ill have to look that up as thats the next item to go on mine. Anyone else heard of that?
Ok it does contact the seal but after a quick check it seemed to be a Mitsubishi problem that has been fixed and the pulley in question was V1. The one out now is V2. also check this out. http://lancertuners.com/showthread.php?t=5843&page=1 Im ordering mine next month.
No offense but I kinda' already knew about all that stuff with the crank pulley. That is why I'm asking about the headers Edit: Sorry what I meant was I've seen the problem with the pulley and exhaust, so I was wondering if I could expect a problem with the header as well.
Thats cool. I had never heard of it. At least anyone else looking at this thread who didn't know will see it's a non-issue. I'm waiting on a pic from Belgaram or anyone else with the headers. Ceramic coating done right should last a long time.
