I read somewhere some time ago that a company was working on making some aftermarket headers. Does anyone remember where that thread is or rumors about that...

headers.. also called extractors are the part of your exhaust that connects up to the engine. Heres a pic of some nice shiney ones.

having a good design can help control where your power and torque will come in. For example some designs will give you maximum power in the high rev range but will loose out on the low end torque and some will do the opposite. Then there are some that are very well made that improve both aspects.

    n00b at this.

How much gains are expected for headers? I dont expect specific numbers to our car, but what are the usual gains from putting a header in?

^ Heres something for you to look at...

Its not on our car, but on a mazda miata. They took the Miata an tested it with stock, then a Tri-Y type header, then finally a 4-into-1 header. They explain the differences between the different designs and then show thier results with dynos.

Awesome, thanks. So since our engine is slightly bigger, maybe.. 10hp? 15 at the most?

Most companies that make/sell headers claim about 10 hp gain going from stock manifold to a header alone... and in some cases 15hp+ .

Im pretty new to this too, so Im learning along with you, lol

would it be hard to put in our cars? and how long do you think it would take to put in?

    Interesting....

Typically 4-1 headers are designed for more topend hp. I thought your design was for the lowend?

every car takes mods different, we have done alot of testing to get the right length tubes to make the power that is good for the car.
