I would have never thought that our lancers, especially the cvt, would give a warning for being toooooooo fast :D !!!!!!

Like stated above, I dont think its because of being too fast, but because the engine is being pushed too hard and overheating.

wow...ive pushed mine to 110-120 on manual and never got that...i think its because your doing it icy road...the only warning i got was "take a break" the one with a coffee cup on it...

I've had mine up to 120 and drive pretty fast most of the time and I've never seen this warning.
I was wondering if they actually had this warning on our car though.
I had a 2006 chevy malibu that I got from enterprise that displayed that message when you got to 110.

i think theres an option in the menu if you want the warnings to be on or off...i think i turn my off for all of them except for that regular checkup deal...

Yeah Ive driven close to 140 myself a couple of times and have never seen it, have also gone through some pretty curvy back roads very hard before too (now I get a funny noise from the power steering pump sometimes becuase of that). Maybe its only CVT related. My car is a manual.

    LuvMyLancer,

The reason for this warning is that the CVT gearbox oil is getting too hot.

We get this a lot here in South East Asia when running on the Malaysian North/South highway, especially when at constant speeds around 180Km/h (120mph) for a couple of hours.

Only way to prevent it is to remove the stock CVT oil cooler and install an aftermarket version in front of the radiator.

    Regards,
