Im contemplating getting me a set of 6k's for my headlights and was wondering how you guys were liking your kit? Im not really interested in particular brands because i have one in mind. But i'd like to know if any of you guys have had problems with local enforcement or anything like that for the lights being "too bright" "too blue" or "too anything" i've never gone HID and from what i've read (non lancer forums) cars that don't have projector housings should not fit an HID kit for Halogen-Housing's like our cars. something about the lighting being WAAAY too bright for oncoming traffic and stuff like that. thoughts? Thanks crew
well i've only had mine for a couple days but they're incredible. I'll put them on any car i ever have. As for enforcment, i'm training to be a police officer and i've asked a few of the cops i know and they all told me they don't care about those lights on cars at all. but it all depends on where you are and how anal the cops are there
i got 6k's on my car. you can check them out tonight or tomorrow. i havent got messed with, but then my car is always in the shop (lol) and my plates are confidential (uncle is a cop and he co-signed for me)
isnt there a limit for you guys? for us in quebec we're allowed hid as long as they aren't blue and for the test if they put a white sheet of paper in front of the light and its blue then we're not allowed because sometimes the light might be a bit blue-ish but it isnt blue...
I've had HIDs on my ride for about a 10 months now, it was actually the first thing I bought for my car and I've never had any problems with law enforcement so far (keeping my fingers crossed)
<---is gaining confidence about purchasing HID kits thanks guys. keep em coming if you have HID's and can add some input.
just get them, it makes you feel like your driving a better car as well. which brand are you going to go with?
hell yeah im gonna hit up all the lexus', bimmers', Escalades and be like..... 8) - "Yeeeeeeee" my buddy is selling an O-Nex kit. He deals directly with them so im not paying full price for em.
nice- never heard of them, but they shouldnt be any different than mine. do they come with the relay or do they work with the drl's?
i doubt they'd work with the DRL's. plus i'd have no clue how to bypass or restrict them anyways. electrical isn't really my thing. 1year warranty with internal igniter. the reviews are good too. so im thinking about pullling the trigger already and getting them.
I have 6k on mine. I love them b/c I dislike the halogen orangy stocks... also have matching 6k fogs but with the headlights and fogs on at night...its a little much for oncoming traffic. But non the less....it sure does make this car look incredible and not cheap....IMO
to me that woulda seemed overkill (2 hid kits) so with the fogs i plan on getting a simliar "blue tint" set of bulbs. granted they won't perform like the HID's will, but i don't mind that at all. It'll just more-less complete the look im going for. thanks for the honesty. i kinda figured having two hid kits running may be a little bright. i was actually more concerned with the 6k's being too bright but from what you guys are saying it's not that much of a concern. thanks fellas
Ive had a 10,000k for a lil over 5 mohts now... cops here in FL dont give a crap about it.. i have yellow luminics fog lights... i love the hid + yellow fogs combo about brands..... if you piece up a kit, like mcculloch ballast and philips lamps for example, those are "good brand" kits... all the rest come from the same place... i buy them from a distributor at the wholesale price for retail, and i know a lot of other people that buy kits for resale and not matter what they say (there will always be people trying to argue about this), they all come from the same place...
i have 2 kits in my car. highs are 4300k though (pure white) and lows are 6000k (white with a tint of blue) nothing wrong with having more than 1 kit. im still thinking of getting hid's for my fogs, but i will go with 3000k (yellow)
well the high beams i could really care less for and you pretty much summed up my sentiments. "buy the low beam, then contimplate fog light situation" i think it's more useful to buy high/low if i HAD to choose 2 kits. i wouldnt get an HID fog kit. that's just me though. basically just personal preference. get your damn car fixed already. and remember bubble-wrap your car for the first month or so. lol
lmao, its fixed already, just not out of the shop yet. and im putting my friends rims on my car for the show since i am having trouble with the judges.
