have you guys noticed that evry time you start the car its kind of bit noisy then it dies down a little bit. seems like its not a brand new car, it supposedly no noise when its new right?. i had the car 4 3 mnths now. any of you peeps notice that?? i'll ask my dealer why does it makes noise, shitt!!
you know i have the same thing...sounds like a lawn mower at first and then it dies down after say 10 seconds.... i dont kow may be its that stock muffler, the way its designed, may be if we get a new exhaust say the one from RRM would sound deeper and it would be toned al lot more..
re.. that would be cool. am still thinking if am going to set up this car because i MIGHT trade this in when the EVO X comes out but am dying to hook this up haha!! u got any plans on trading it in?? do you have any idea how much the EVO will be??
there is no way i can afford an evo right now, i am 2 sememsters from graduating college, after i get a great job it will no sweat of getting an evo x or may be by that time evo 11 hahahah, but i am sticking to this lancer, its a awesome ride, and i will hook this one up, its the closest thing to evo on the planet!
I'm having the same thing too, seems to go over 2000rpms and sounds kinda loud, then dies down to about 1000rpms and just purrrrs. It seems to do it after its sat for a long period of time. I've reved the car a few times it didn't, just a touch and it goes right back down. Has anyone found anything out at the dealer?
I'm new to the import cars, my Mustang never had to warm up, it would idle right at the level it should as soon as you started it up, wouldn't be revving high for 15seconds and then drop. And like a car needs to warm up in 95 degree weather, lol.
do tell u the thruth i think its the stock muffler making all that noice. By the time the exhaust circulates throuth that big ass muffler its makiing some crazy noice, i bought the RRM exhaust after i install it i will let ya'll know if its still making that noise.
I noticed that also, that is a big @$$ muffler!!!! Could you let us know how much it weighs. I saw the pic from rrm for their exhaust and there is alot more room less weight by removing that.
lol yeah when i was jackin my car to paint the calipers i was surprised how freakin' big that muffler is ... thought it was a tiny gas tank at first
^^same with me. when i lifted my car with jacks to paint my calipers, i noticed how huge our muffler is.
Rocktight, is (or was) your mustang a v8? If so, those take even longer to warm up than a 4cyl. Especially when they get old...
Sp4rt4n, sorry for the late response, but yes, my Mustang was a V8 GT, would have never owned a V6 in something that is considered american muscle, lol. Its not about warming up, when I started my Mustang, it sat at a nice idle from when I started to when I pulled away. The Lancer seems to be loud at first and then it dies down, maybe because it is a 4cylinder and thats just what they do. But its definitely loud for that first 10 seconds.
i got little problem too with that noise. when car is parked it runs totally quiet but when i accelerate like 2-4rps u can hear a noise coming out of something neither muffler or engine. ive read all those posts, so u think if i put a other muffler or your RRM axle back exhaust i wont hear that noise. and one more thing if you guys can show me how that RRM axle back exhaust sounds, give me ling to a sound track or do a video then let me know
