Anyone know how to do this? This is my only beef with my car! I don't mind putting on my seatbelt....But you don't have to ding at me every five seconds. I've learned to tune it out as best I can but I would love to rip the doorbell dinger out!

Please give me a hand here people...is there any bypass or wire I can cut?

No offense but guess what, if you wear your seatbelt like you're supposed to before you start driving you won't hear any dinging but hey if you have a accident hopefully you'll only be killing yourself.

Thats why, even if im going to the dumpster in my apartment complex (like 25 seconds going 1mph) i buckle up, before even taking it out of parking.. its just a safety habit... i would actually love that ding to keep going until the passenger buckles up too.. thats an occasional fight i have with my GF :D

mitsu loves you... buckle up :)

    Thank you for your advice.

But it's my car, I pay for it...If I choose not to wear my seatbelt then I choose to do so. If I go on long trips I might wear my seat belt. I just don't like being told what to do is basically what it is. I don't mind doing it, and I see the good side to doing it. I Just don't like it telling me to do it. I just turn the music up and ignore that bitch.

The thing I hate about it is when you need to reverse, the stupid thing starts that annoying chime. I never used to wear a seat belt when I was reversing because it's uncomfortable, and I reverse into my driveway everyday but now it's a must :x

I have lost too many friends that were not buckled up, so suck it up unless you want fireman washing you off a wall. :sad3: :crybaby:

heres an idea...just get a separate lock and lach it in there or you put the seatbelt in and you can sit over it and you can slide the top part of the belt easily...

read the manual carefully...08 lancers has an automated logging system...which means in case of an accident the system can show whether you have your seatbelt on or not...can somebody confirm this, i know i read this somewhere in the manual

i know its your ride and all, but think about carefully...

lol, i agree. just wear the damn thing. i will void your warranty if you cut or motify any wires, there are too many airbags in the car for it to allow you to turn off chime

I will fix this problem! And I think I know about wearing my seatbelt. I've been in wrecks before every time I've had a seatbelt on.

Seatbelt doesn't always save your life. If some of you live near Haverstraw New York than maybe you heard about the couple of guys that got in an accident in a red civic in the middle of nowhere? Well my buddy was in the car and they were going 120 and they hit a bump and their car flew off the road into a pole, car got split in half and my friend didn't have a seat belt. He flew out of the car and was left with some scratches but that’s about it.

same here man,my friend died in a 110mph head on colision in a v6 contour with a bridge. a friend in the pass. side flew out thr front window ans wasnt wearing it.he survived. my friend died cuz of the G force going 110-0 in a second,he would have survived if he didnt wear it he could hav at least been thrown out,and in time survive. we know its the law. we know its annoying, playa...me also has become a habit to put it on as well. just so i wont hear it.we know itll save our life most of the time.where i was getting to w/o any bashing was just moving ur car in ur drive way just a few feet and the dinging goes off, is the annoying part of it.any other time is a habit.and i also have worn my seatbelt when i was in a accident.

You guys telling stories about your friends dying in 100+ MPH crashes....

The seatbelt issue didnt kill/save the person. The whole reason anything happened in that accident is because of a fucking moron driving way too fast.

Fucking juveniles I swear to god...
