I've been looking all over for the thread but i can't find either.

So, my ES is completely stock just bought it on sunday doesn't even have insurance yet ;p

Anyway, one of the first REAL mod's i'm planning to do to the car is add

    A) Good Exhaust
    B) Cold Air Intake
    C) And Changing the head lights from yellow to blue.

I know their all going to take a while BUT,

my brothers a mechanic for hyundai, but he doesn't know much about Cold air intakes.

Question 1: Where the hell can i mount the damn thing! I know theirs a kit to move the batter around but where the hell do i put that?

Question 2: Does anyone elses Lancer scratch when you're going backwards and you put it in reverse?

I backed out of my driveway today and i put it in reverse with the clutch all the way down and it scratched nasty made me pretty sad.

Anyway, any help would be great!

BTW, please don't be assholes i just want some information and no i'm not lazy i skimmed the pages of this forum and found some info but didn't answer my questions

    Thanks![/b]

    OKAY SO

i was looking at some CAI's, i have a few more Newb questions..

If you install the CAI straight into the enguine and it works out right

#1 is where you install it right?!

    and 2nd question..

What the hell do you do with your air filter and all that thats now disconnected? [diagram 2]

So, your 16 then? Umm no clue about the scratching sound and Injen CAI, read the directions once arrived or look online although your lazy, ask Subawho or Gatz cause they for sure have installed one.

Haha, no actually i'm 18! If insurance isn't expensive enough at 18 why would i wanna pay double for being 16!
    lol

and heyyy i'm not lazy just didn't think of that!

google is too advertisey, they don't show me what iwanna see even though i type in description stuff! they show me stuff for the 02-07 models.

Your 18 and your just getting your license? No worries, I got mine when I was 17. We are both lazy!

Well yeah, TECHNICALLY if you don't go through driving school you gotta be 17 1/2 to take your permit test so you cuold get your license at 18

so yeah.. i'm too cheap to pay for driving school just to not have a car to drive.

    ANYWAYS BACK TO SUBJECT!

i went to the injen website and it shows they have two CAI's for the lancer but it doesn't show anything besides product number and charts.

DUDE! you are worring way too much. so far theres the fujitia short ram and the injin cai out. if theres others i'm sorry, havent seen them. i'm assuming the cai will come with hella awsome instructions like the fujita did ( the one i have). as for the oe air box... mine is in the garage with my oe muffler.

as for a relocating kit for the battery. i dont know of any.

the scraching has been throughly covered. basicly you have to be in a compleate stop before going into reverse. give it a lil more time to break in, after a while it shouldnt be as easy to grind/scrach

ok... first of all you really need to search... in the menu on top of the forum theres a button that says search... its very useful... im dont mean to be a dick.. im just saving you from future flaming

now to business.. like etxlancer said they come with instructions.. but just to give you a heads up, this is how the CAI looks:

as you can see the airbox is gone... this is just a preview for you....

now here is the fujita short ram intake:

    this is easier to instal...

and this is the RRM short ram intake:

there you have the three options....

also WORKS has the drop in filter, that replaces the stock filter provifing better flow, keeping the stock look and ducts that pull cold air from the front of the bumper... here it is:

    hope this helps....

and remember, the search button will always be your best friend...

the supporting vendors sell that merchandise..

I don't know what you mean by scratching, but whenever we back out of my driveway, if we go to fast then the curb will scrape the bottom side of the GTS side extensions.
