You have projector head light housing which is good. They appear to be the oem bulb with is halogen. You can get hid lights from ddm tuning. You just need to know what type of light bulbs you need. Keep the headlight housing get hid kit from ddmtuning.com

ok, so basically if I buy this kit from DDMtuning.com http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W then i can switch to HID lights?? how difficult is the install??

make sure you choose 55w. It is legal. 35w may look pretty and all but not legal. comes with instructions on the site but the install is pretty straight forward.

Since you have the newer lancer you will have flicker so contact JRox for his solution to that. And everything should be plug and play once you order the kit.

I've never heard of 35 watt ballasts being illegal...

It maybe a state law but I know in va it is illegal. Well it was where I went anyway.

That's interesting. Never heard about that. Don't see how they're illegal anyways. All HID's are illegal in a reflector housing, supposedly.

Yea I hate it when I see that on the road. I see the bright blues coming from over 5 miles away and they are still blinding me you need to be punished.

While I do appreciate the recommendation (thank you Jogenmaru), my DRL Bypass is NOT necessary for those with the OEM HID Projectors. You will NOT experience any flicker because the DRL signal is active through the high beam bulb (inner bulb). You have the OEM HID Projectors which are HID lights (OEM HID Ballast & Bulbs). The bulb size is D2S. Please check your manual to confirm. Stock OEM HID bulb temp is 4300k. If you want to change the "appearance" of the bulb, you only need to swap the HID Bulb. I would suggest 5000k and no more than 6000k. The higher the temp, the less light intensity.

Awesome!!! I was hoping they were stock HIDs. The light is too white for them not to be. but i def would like them to be a bit brighter. any good suggestions for places to get bulbs??

I know this is an old thread, but i have a new question. Im just about ready to buy my 5000k or 6000k bulbs as we speak, but i realized I have not seen any tutorials for how to replace the HID bulbs. The manual has nothing about replacing the bulbs, it says to let the dealership do them. And most people replacing hid bulbs on the site have aftermarket headlights. So can anyone point me to a tutorial of replacing the stock HID bulbs?? i've searched, but have had no luck so far.

Its no different than replacing regular bulbs. Just like always though be careful not to touch the bulbs as that causes the bulb to loose life.

ok, so i FINALLY got my bulbs in... *i swear it took over 2 weeks to ship... the tracking numbers were garbage too... * I attempted the install per the instructions in the manual, but the bulbs do not install the same way as the non hid bulbs. I was able to remove the housing cap, and the socket the bulb fits into, but the bulb remained in the light housing. has anyone replaced the bulbs on the stock HID housing?? any tips for removing the bulb once the socket is removed?? thanks!!

From the factory, the bulb will be a little tight in there. I know I had to remove my headlight first and undo the two small (+) screws to get remove the bulb. In the future I retightened it up but made it loose enough so that I can twist the bulb's base. It's a 9006 bulb so it's got the 3 plastic tabs sticking out. I know 2 out of 3 are different sizes so you'll have to wigle it around to get it in there.
