Can't fly to CA to do it for you, but its not all that hard, you do need a spring compressor.

You will need to unbolt the strut on top and bottom. Just make sure to support the axle and caliper assemblies when you do this. It will reduce driveline or brake issues from just letting them hang and stress the parts by gravity. Most of our cars have rear coilover shocks. Meaning its setup like a strut, but doesn't affect the rear axle, or brakes. You don't have to support anything in the rear during the removal process. When you do reinstall the rear you will need a jack to move the rear axle back within range of the top and bottom bolts.

As for the front assembly...after you have it removed:

First (if you have one) put the spring compressor on the spring and clamp it down.

Next, you will need to remove the center retaining nut, the bearing plate, and the upper spring seat. That should allow the assembly to come apart safely. Just remember BE VERY CAREFUL when doing anything with a compressed spring whether it is in the spring compressor or still in the strut assembly. It can come out with dangerous force.

RRM has a nice tutorial for the Lancer platform.

Like what redgalant2k1 said, Make sure you support the front axle and brakes, or else, you will have an empty pocket and headache.

If you just live near me, I'll surely help you pare..

    Goodluck with the install. :D
