Ok I just need to know where to buy from and what to buy for my 09 Lancer ES. 1. I'm set on getting the Tsudo N1 Exhaust. 2. I am torn on going with an SRI or a CAI. I live in AZ so it is decently dry here but when it rains it pours. I know Injen sells the Hydro Shield for their CAI. However, I have seen some of you saying that the SRI does better for the lower RPM city driving. The summers here in AZ can reach 110-115 degrees. So this intake is going to be a very important purchase. 3. Lastly, what company can I order both from at the same time?
let me start with this question, are you FED or PZEV. second, the intake can be either CAI or SRI but weigh the options. also, AEM and i think K&N make intakes as well that have power gains. third, auto city imports.
I'm FED. Its really hard to decide which intake would be good in hot ass arizona. Auto imports for sure, I checked out their website and liked what I saw.
CAI in AZ would actually do you good since the heat is dry. The CAI is going to pull air from below the car where the air will be cooler give you decent gains in the high end. Take it from me dont buy the Borla. Its not only big and bulky and make you car looks super ricey but it gets hot really hot and you already live in a hot area it might melt your bumper like it did mine, not to mention its loud as shit on the inside of the car. Look at getting the Greddy SE or the Borla both have a nice rumble and are not over large. Bluedevillancer is right ACI is the best way to go.
i went with a takeda short ram with heat shild, i havnt put it on yet but like what i seen in the box. I had a fujita for my 08 eclipse that was a full cai and they had a issuse with it snaping off the mounting post and the filter rubbing on the fog light. Mine didnt snap but it did rub on the fog light and cost me two filters that arnt cheap. As far as exhust i got a aftermarket muffler off a evo x than i will have custom mounted.
I have the Tsudo N1 exhaust and I cant wait to get rid of it. It was a NIGHTMARE. I had to rig the hangers because they are all kinds of wrong. They make your exhaust pipe rattle against the frame. After about 4 months, there is rust forming around the weld points. At the ends of the rods that the hangers attach to is straight and I've actually had the exhaust slide off of the hanger. The sound is ok, but as it gets older it actually starts sounding worse. It's working now, but I check it almost every day to slide the hanger back onto the rod. It sits lower than I actually would like, but shy of taking the whole thing off and bending the hangers, I'm stuck. Oh and 1 last thing... The donut gasket that attaches the exhaust to the pipe is junk thin wire mesh. My advice is go with the Greddy. As they say, pay now or pay later.
Oh and I am happy with the RRM intake. I don't have anything to compare it too, but it sounds good and I got good gains.
Anyone ever buy from autoanything.com? I like their setup and am considering ordering from them. Just wanna know if anyone has dealt with them before.
