Accolade Evolution X Conversion

How much is the hood?
I'm thinking of getting one 2 keep the SRI cool.
Dumb question, but are the scoops on the hood functional or just for show?

 

well i can't answer your first question because i don't wanna get into trouble in case accolade got booted for the same thing. i think i remember someone else mentioning it was around 800 bucks UNPAINTED. ghey...

For the scoops to be functional it'd have to have an opening for the air to be channeled towards the engine/intercooler/turbo. Vents are functional too in the sense they let the hot air out . I've seen both vented-style and scooped- hood style that weren't functional. (no opening) always looks wierd to me...

 

they dont sell in parts you would have to buy the whole kit. ive ask

 

That much for a steel hood which probably costs $50 to produce? Not even painted. LOL no thanks
Does water enter the scoops/vents? or Are they designed to keep water out?

That's not what I was told... within minutes of an email, I received quotes!

I don't want to get in trouble either posting prices.

But it was like USD$250 for shipping to Australia (21 days shipping) on a near complete kit and everything is primed ready for paint.

Also parts are oem from Japan, from their Japan office and they order from MMC parts agent.

I only want the side skirts

I'm just jealous of the dude in New Zealand he's one of the first people in the world outside of Asia to have an Evo X, ... jealous I tell you

 

There was a misunderstanding between a mod and that thread. It has been worked out just waiting on a response from BodyKits.com....

the evo x isnt even out in most states so i doubt ull find sites with parts yet.

 

Or any site that has after market parts for our Lancers?

 

There are plenty of aftermarket companies that do stuff for our car. Depends on WHAT part you're asking for though....

performance is sorta covered
aero/body is sorta covered
suspension parts have been around
lighting/electrical we have Automoglow

 

I was mainly looking for a company or companies producing hoods for our cars with scoop and ventilation. I was thinking that it would be the best thing to keep the Fujita SRI cool.
