So, who is the better car in terms of performance. Lancer GTS 09's 4B12 or Lancer Ralliart 06's 4G69?

Well the new 4B12 produces 168 hp and the 4G69 I think produced like 162 hp. Now those numbers arent to the ground meaning that one may lose more HP than the other. But to me what matters is how the engine takes to mods and how much beating the engine can take. The 4B12 is still to new of an engine for us to know but I do prefer that it is DOHC compared to the SOHC that was in the 4G69. But I do believe the 4G69 has a lower compression ratio which would help it take to boost better.

By the way I do believe the 06 Ralliart weights in 100 or so lbs lighter too. So I actually wouldnt mind seeing the two cars race in stock form with equally skilled drivers.

a friend of mine had 05-06 RA...we did race a few times...he had all kind of mods in his ride and i could say he was ahead of me just by the length of his hood all i got was a muffler and an intake...

between a 4b12 & 4g69 it probably depends on the mods but on in this case id say the 4b12 has the edge...

I have the '04 Ralliart still stock except suspension. Many of the guys here in Houston have the 4b12 still stock so maybe we can do a couple of test runs to see where they fall. The suspension upgrade has done wonders for my car though and helps with the grip problem I had on take off. I do think there is a slight weight advantage in the 4g69 though.

Cool. I wouldnt mind seeing how that turns out. What all did you do suspension wise?

I just have a basic street setup; tein s-techs with kyb struts. Gave it a nice little drop and helped the grip quite a bit.

Hopefully we can test this out sometime after Christmas.

So true about the weight advantage.

It would be interesting to see the results of those runs.
