    i am sorry for the language in advance but MOTHERFUCKERS....a bump in horsepower and 4b12 engine????? 2.4L
    WFT..... i wonder what will come out in 2010. 4b25??? 300HP 3.0L

    sounds good but for those that are really trying to race......well the 2.4L does not have its own class and all real rally racing is done at 2.0L. but for those that just want to go fast and dont care about really racing it and just having fun on the streets the 2.4L would be cool. but for those of us that have the 2.0L 4B11, well we can get the same numbers the 2.4L 4B12 can. from what it says, its just a bored and stroked 4B11. this can be done to our engines, hence we can get the same or even greater numbers in power gains. another bad thing i see with the 2.4L is that it might be a little more gas thirsty, but who knows and who knows if the Cali/PZEV model will have the same numbers.

    ^ i hear ya nemo and jake but wtf! just another excuse for companies to only make hp parts only 4 the new 2.4L. oh well that swap is sounding better and better. I got quoted $40k to dbl hp and keep n/a and it wont even be streetable. so those that saw the works or have heard about it, now you know that their car is all hype and unless u plan 2 make ur 08 a racecar dont even use their car as an example of this is what im gonna do.

    its also about 150 pounds more heavier, the engine also now has balance shafts which add weight, a good amount, one thing i wana punch mitsu in the face for, adding the zenon headlight option, the one thing i really wish was available as an option, hopefully we will be able to get them cheaper now, but damm i hate mitsu for this, ok rant over

    dont forget guys, the EVO X is a 4B11T which i think should be able to transfer over the parts to our 4B11. which in this case companies are going to make after market parts for the EVO X and Lancer. the 4B12 might not get as many companies to make after market parts for,and since the EVO X and Lancer both have 4B11 engines; this will make it most cost effective and more profitable to after market companies. so it might be a bad thing to have the 4B12, cuz who knows if the '09 EVO will have a 4B12T.....

    i am so fucking pissed when i read that, its BS!!!

    But at least we have the evo inspried 4B11 engine! A evo Engine
    The 4B12 sounds gay!

    O god i will also get those projector headlights!!

    Im not as dissapointed as some of you guys. I think that if i just stick with my gts, i will be just fine in the future.

    i am not upset, its just more and more changes come out for the lancer, oh well i let the performance companies worry about that.....

    flow yeah turbo sonds awesome, cant wait fro speed corps to come out wiht one....

    Dont quote me on this, but if the 2.4L is only bored and stroked, parts should fit on the 4b11 as well, this is starting to look like, the 4g64 and 4g63(Evo) alot of the parts could be shared since the 4g64 was basically a stroked 4g63(with other differences of course like SOHC compared to DOHC, but nothing a little head swap couldnt change) but most of the parts from the turbo off the Evo will fit with little mods.
    But since the 4b11 and 4b12 seem even closer in similarities I dont see why bolt on parts would not fit either engine, except for possible engine bay differences to make up for some other changes that might happen

    I was looking at some stuff about this before, and if this is the same engine out of outlanders, it'll have an 88mm bore and 97mm stroke; as opposed to our 86mm bore and stroke.

    So, the increase in stroke will probably lower the engine's usable rpm range compared to our 4b11, based on other things I've read/heard, right?

    Also, all the 4B engines are in the same design family. Perhaps internal parts will be compatible and able to be swapped over without much trouble like throwing a Jeep 4.2L crankshaft and rods in a Jeep 4.0 to get a 4.5L I6 with minor crank snout mods. Since they are in the same family, I don't see why there would be a lot of differences between them.

    I know it's all basic speculations and the like, but I figured I'd throw in my $.02

    I'm still waiting to test drive the half-promised Ralliart that should be lightly turbo'd for some where around 225HP to compete with the Subaru WRX. If they throw the older Evo IX AWD drive train on there, I think I may be sold. The current Lancer just doesn't have enough get up and go for me comparable to other things in the same price range. Doesn't mean it aint the meanest, coolest looking one though. Also, for every sticker I would throw on it, that's like what...about 5 to 10 HP additional per sticker...right, right??

    Another thing...this isn't anything new. We have known, either by speculation or through semi-creditable sources, that they were planning to do this. I have know about this for almost 6 months and has been a reason for me to hold off till this and/or the Ralliart comes out.

    I bought my car at the end of October, and they are saying all I had to do was wait a month to get the above mentioned items? The only thing keeping me from going "wtf-fu Mitsubishi" mad is the fact that from the beginning I had planned on upgrading to the Ralliart when it comes out next year. Otherwise I would have been one pissed off MFer.

    I have a feeling i'll be just fine.

    While all the powertrain/engine madness gets sorted out (in time) i'll be working on the suspension and lightening-up my lancer. Give it some nice shoes, and by the time i'm ready for power, i bet we'll get some answers and maybe even a strong reputable turbo-kit to smoke either 08-09 lancer 8)

    for fuks sakes this is what all you 08lancer owners do,,DONT BUY A 09 lancer its pointless and dont bother upgradeing the same parts as the 4B12 this is what you do

    Buy a proper intake -

    -Short Ram Intake Like $200 (if you want the stock box get a K&N Filtre $109 it doesnt void any warrenty)
    -Engine v2 Belt Pulley $129
    -Get a Proper Exhaust system (dont be cheap) Extractors/Headers, Stainless Steel Piping with a nice muffler set you like $2000-$5000 with everything

    If your cheap just get a HIGH FLOW CAT BACK SYSTEM WITH A CANON OR MUFFLER $1500 at da most

    Take it to your local atuo shop tell him to re tune the engine on the dyno and use 98octane fuel or higher no more den 105.2octane (i ran my car at that 1 time its 2 much power) so get your engine tuned using 98octane or higher...


    then there ya have a 175kw 08 4b11 lancer that will shread the 09 GTS

    and it didnt cost you a fortune

    and if you want quciker off the mark 18inch light weight rimz with medium hard springs and lower the fuk out of the car

    ^ So are you saying to ppl to not get the 09 all because ur 08 was heavily tuned? How about this ill take my 09 to ur mechanic and tell him to do what he did to yours and then we will see if your lil argument is worth saying to all of us?

    All because u got an 08 and got pissed because the 09 has a slightly better engine dont try to force nonsense info like this on to this community.

    Ppl look at like this. This lancer has been the most sexiest lancer to come out since the history of lancers. IMHO. so who cares if you got an 08 or 09? If your a heavy duty speed racer then yes you should be mad. But if you just love your car thats all that matters.

    So my point is dont listen to anyone only yourself if you think trading your 08 for and 09 thats fuckin great. I drove both 08's and 09's i love the fact i chose the 09. I dont race like every fuckin day. but since i got the car ive whoopppppeeed so many cars. even the 08's (makes me sad to race the same car Sad) Also im not saying Lancer08tuner is wrong he is absolutely right you can make any car into a powerful machine but dont come in here with this bs.
