I am still trying to make my decision on buying a new lancer. I had finally found the ONE I wanted at a dealer that was an hour from where I live, so I drove up to check it out and see what kind of deal they would do. After looking at this brand new 2009 GTS, it was obvious they had been using for test drives and my guess that they had also been running for lunch everyday or even taking home overnight, it was demo and I did not want a demo unit. But that brings me to this topic. The interior of this demo unit looked like a car that had more than about 400 hundred miles on it. I would hate to know what it will look like in a couple years. The carpet was showing signs of wear where the heal of their shoe was resting at the accelerator, the header, door panels and console fabric had some fading and spots that looked like a dog with the mange was starting, that or my dad's balding head. There were threads hanging from the seats that looked like the seams were about to split apart because I could see the foam padding though it. Of all the others I have looked at, this was never a thought, I know this is just the way they were treating this car at that dealership. So my question is how well the 2008+ units are holding up to everyday use?
I have about 12k miles on my 08 gts and I've had it since Jan 08. When ever I clean the inside of my car its like brand new.
ive had mine for almost a year now (Nov 07) And i only have 1 single problem with my interior. The A/C duct doors (you know, the lil pannel things), well the lil slider to turn it left and right has broken on all of my A/c ducts. And not by me either. other than that, i wash my car at least 3 times a month, and it looks great, Mitsu could have made it a little more "cool" looking, but hey, CF trims FTW
They are im sure, but i got a lot of stuff done to my car, so i doubt theyll touch it lol. still havent had the time to pass by there iether.
interior is cool! love it... though we all know there's alot of CHEAP hard plastic all around hahah but still i like it =D
Mitsubishi and Quality are 2 words that don't belong together, haha. Seriously though, for how cheap the Lancer is, the interior is right in it's range. Now if this were the interior of a BMW then it would be bad.
I understand this fact about Mitsu, that is why I am looking at the Lancer so I don't have to spend the $$$ for an over priced car to have something I enjoy driving. Just want to know that its not going to be a POS in 4 years if taken care of. The black interior color is what I am afraid of showing ever little flaw with age. Thanks for the input, but its just hard to walk away from the Lancer for the fun/price ratio.
ive had mine sine feb 08 and the wear and tear that i have is on the floor mat where my foot sits for the brake and accelerator. but the seats have been hold up great. and im constantly put equipment back there. my only complaint about anything on the interior is the trunk floor mat, it doesnt stay put, when ever i put something back there it slides and i have to fix the trunk mat when ever i put stuff back there.
I have almost 30k miles on mine since Mar 07 and the beige interior. It is holding up fine and i live in SoCal with the heat of almost two summers. The drivers side looks just as nice as the passenger side. As for the demo car you drove, forget about that. Salespeople do not give a shit of the cars on their lot. Its not theres so why should they care.
take the demo if u want. but tell them u want it cleaned up.. with new floor mats.. they will give you a better deal on a demo too.. i had to get mine bult in japan and shipped over here.. took 4 months to get my lancer.
